I purchased this cooler/refrigerator to use in my bus when I boondock. I cools down fast and keeps the temperature where you set it. It holds a surprising amount of food/drinks; more than what I anticipated when I first opened the box although if there were more than one person using it there may not be enough room. I would prefer to have a two separate temperature zones for cool and frozen foods but I didn't want to invest that much $. This is a good compromise. It's a bit noisy but it ran just fine either plugged into the cigarette lighter or when plugged into an outlet with generator power. Overall I'm pleased with it. The product does what it is advertised to do and for the money it's a good little unit.

The first thing about this model is that it is likely OEM-ed by others. However, the firmware in the Alpicool has a few features that others of this model don't have. One of them is confirming on the display that someone wants to pair with Bluetooth. This is important, so someone can't just lock the control panel as a prank on you, or adjust settings which might damage the fridge. The good about it. It does what it says. I have a number of freezer packs which will not freeze unless the temperature is well under freezing, around 0 degrees Fahrenheit. All of them were solid in a few hours, which is pretty astonishing. The small fridge compartment is good enough to keep some bags of shredded cheese above freezing, but refrigerated. It cools and cools quickly, and keeps things going. The app is decent, and has all main stuff at a glance, where turning on and off Eco mode is easy. My only worry, as I mentioned above is someone ninja-pairing their phone, locking the display, or the display is locked and a phone is lost or factory reset. Hopefully there is a way to reset the fridge if locked via the Bluetooth app.The basket makes it easy to get food in and out. It can get heavy, but it is nice being able to pull the entire contents out.The fridge works well, and you can tell it is working because a hand by the vent (left if facing the plug, right if facing the control panel) will have warm air. You can also hear the refrigerant quietly gurgle, which is a good sign. Overall, decently quiet. The fridge has a three level selection of battery saver. I've yet to test it, because I always use it with a power bank, as a power bank can tend to run the fridge for longer than just a car battery. Because it only connects to a power bank, I set that to "low", just in case a power bank doesn't have a regulated 12 volt port.If one adds an optional cover (make sure it fits this model, or a comparable brand), it adds a good amount of insulation, allowing the compressor to rest longer, and thus save on battery power.Eco mode works well, and is something I like using on a cool night. In the daytime, I turn it back to Max, especially if I have a generator and/or solar on, just for better cooling. What would be nice is the ability to set this setting either on time of day, or perhaps at ambient temperature outside. The bad:The latch is something that seems fragile. I try to gently close and open it, because if that breaks, there is no way to securely shut it. I have another, no name, fridge which has lasted since 2019, with constant openings/closings, zero issues. It would be nice if the parts that made up the latch were stainless steel or even brass just so it isn't a worry. Bonus points if ball bearings are used. The area you plug the cord into does not seem reinforced. I fear that I might break the case by pressing the cord in. So, I'd probably just not risk things, plug the 12 volt cord in, and use that, either to the battery bank, or via a 120 VAC to 12 VAC rectifier that can do at least 60 watts (I prefer 120 just for headroom as the compressor starting up has a big inrush current.) This way, the cable can stay put, but one can plug it into wherever one chooses. The door opening up long-ways can be a drag. However, one can position it so that isn't too bad an item. The vents should have proper airflow, and mind air direction. If either of the compressor vents winds up blocked, it may cause the compressor to shut down. The ugly: This fridge seems to be OEM-ed by a few companies, be it Alpicool, Euhomy, Roxx, and others. It has the same control panel, but the Bluetooth app belongs to the fridge company. There are directions around to do low level programming on the E1-E8 items, if need be... but in general, if there isn't a need to adjust them, other than the one that swaps between Celsius and Fahrenheit, I'd not bother with them.Overall, it keeps my frozen stuff safely under 0º (F), so I'm happy, and it does the job well.

Fridge cools quickly and is quite quiet. Was easy to connect to the app. Does not appear to be the same dimensions as posted on Amazon. The only concern I have is the lid hinge appears quite flimsy for its size and designated use. Time with tell of its durability.

Tested it at home on my 600w battery and it lasted for 14hour on low mode and e mode but when i took it for overlanding lasted only 4hours on same settings and all of sudden it sarted turning on and off and i even reset the fridge to factory setting and plugged it at home still doing the same thing on and off.

Bad quality. Same factory like Vevor but more expensive. Doesn't hold temperature. Running every minute. I have 2000Wh battery and it drains 30% just over night!

For the money it’s hard to beat. We used it for a 2 week road trip. It worked great. We only used as a fridge, not a freezer. I haven’t even tried to get it to freeze yet so I can’t say how well that function works. The temp display seems a little off but I didn’t use a thermometer to confirm. I can’t speak to longevity because I’ve only had it for a couple weeks but it worked perfectly 2 weeks on the road. What an upgrade over our roto moulded cooler. So nice to not have to change out ice every couple of days and have soggy food. My only complaint is the size. I bought the 45 quart unit because it was the only one they could ship to me before we left for our trip. For another $30ish bucks I’d say the 55 quart is a no brainer. It seems to be relatively efficient power wise. I don’t have any hard #’s to back this up but we powered this using a jackery 240. Whatever their smallest unit is. We had the jackery plugged into my trucks AC outlet. So the jackery was being charged while driving and the jackery ran the fridge while stopped for the night. Our trip was late august in the northeast. Temps were in the 80s during the day and maybe 60 at night. At that temp that little baby jackery will run the fridge for about 24 hours without being charged. If you’re going to camp for more than 1 night I’d say you need at least a 500 watt battery and a solar panel to keep this fridge running.Overall I’m pretty impressed. I really wanted a higher end fridge but I’m just too cheap/poor to justify the $1000 price tag of a dometic or something comparable for how infrequently I’d use it. If this thing last a year or two I’d say it’s worth it.

I'm not a hardcore camper so I wanted to wait long enough to have actually tested this in the real world before passing judgment. And I couldn't be more pleased with the 45L refrigerator's performance. For over three years this has seen use through five week-long Summer road trips, three week-long trips in the Maine woods, a week in a Cape Cod campground, and several day or weekend trips. It's performed exactly as I expected it. It cools quickly and stays cold. I have not seen any failures in the handle. The only thing that is a little flaky is the included 12V cigarette lighter cord which grips the plug on the back so well that the whole socket usually comes out when you try and unplug it. And a little dielectric grease once in a while fixes that. The refrigerator performs well whether plugged into a 110V outlet in a hotel room, into a power socket in my Subaru, running off of a large power bank (GoalZero Yeti 1400), or off a gas generator, The refrigerator draws minimal current (my Yeti 1400 lasts more than a full week running the refrigerator overnight set at 30 degrees F) and is quiet, even in a hotel room at night. I even use it one day a year set to -4 F to transport a gallon of my favorite ice cream home after vacation. I recommend this as an affordable option for anyone. I am incredibly pleased with this purchase.

Mode ECO!
