I've had this system for a year now and it worked great until about a month ago. Now, when I'm consistently exceeding 20mph, a grinding sound emits from the flywheel. Almost like it's overheating and starting to grind a bit. Pretty disappointed as now I'm afraid it's just going to blow up and spew oil all over my carpeted floor - so I slow down until it the grinding sound stops and then just maintain a slower pace. Not what you're looking for when trying to push during a workout. Today, the noise started again at 20mph, but then I couldn't even get it to stay quiet at 15mph, so it's obviously getting worse.

I needed an indoor trainer to keep me riding in the Midwest winters. I picked the Alpcour after reading reviews, cost and ease of assembly. I’ve used the Alpcour for around 2 years. The unit is well constructed, easily assembled and meets my needs for wintertime riding when it’s way too cold outside. Best of all, I found a new life for my 42 year old Gios that had been resigned to second-bike status. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid well-built trainer at a reasonable price.

This is a solid bike trainer. It was very easy to assemble. Even though, the directions were not easy to understand, it was super easier to make sense of each part.I live in an apartment on the top floor. The noise created is not extreme to have the need to use ear plugs, but in an apartment, it’s too loud. Also, not considering the vibration this add to the floor.I moved it to the balcony area, and it was still a bit loud to use. Again, nothing extreme you would not hear at the gym.During the workout, I didn’t notice a difference in resistance. I was switching gears to increase resistance.

Great trainer. Easy to assemble and packs away nicely. Noise level increases as you add resistance. Worth the money especially during a pandemic!

This is a great trainer that I got after not enough exercise in pandemic. Although I stopped biking due to some personal injury along with some age, this bike trainer has been FANTASTIC with my old Cannondale T400. The instructions are clear and setup and use is spot on as with the video. I am over 6'1" and ~270 lbs the trainer is sturdy (as is my bike!). I did have to find a stepstool to help me mount the bike in my case due to weak right leg. It takes up very little floorspace and I have it in my garage without problem. I COULD use it inside and the noise is fine if you are in your own room. I consulted some more knowledgable biking friends who were new to this brand but liked reviews and familiar with some competing brands. I LOVE IT!!

I have been using this trainer daily for the past 3 months and has been working flawless for a medium power daily 1-hr. ride. No visible defects and the quality of the product is acceptable. Instructions for setting it up can be improved, however, should not be a major concern. Noise levels are OK with a Conti trainer tire. Good affordable alternative for the Saris Fluid Ops 2.

Works well. Good value. Here are a couple considerations that might apply to you:1. SETUP: Setup is easy if you know what to do -- but very, very frustrating otherwise. The instructions are wore than poor -- they are misleading. The secret: Understand that the L-Bolt is for later tension adjustment ans is not for mounting the resistance to the platform. Just attach the L-bolt first loosely first so it's in the right place. Then use the regular bolt for mounting -- unfortunately, you can't insert the adjustable L-bolt after mounting the fluid resistance module with the regular bolt, so it's weird because logically you want to attach the resistance first and then the adjustment second. Be patient.2. RESISTANCE: If you are a strong cyclist, this system might not provide enough resistance to you:- Resistance increases with wheel speed- You need a fast pace (20mph+) to generate resistance for a hard workout- A mountain bike won't be geared high enough to generate enough wheel speed for substantial resistance for a rigorous workoutBut, I do recommend this trainer stand!

This trainer works great. It is very sturdy and stable. Assembly was just adding a bolt, and a wrench was provided. I have a Motobecane Champion road bike, and the installation was easy. It only takes a couple of minutes to remove the bike for an outdoor ride. It’s great for rainy days, and lately the Texas heat has driven me inside as well. It is pretty quiet, so it is easy to listen to music. I leave mine set up, but it comes with a heavy canvas bag for those who want to get it out of the way when not in use. I expect it will fit under most beds or in the bottom of the closet.

Noise is fine. But I wouldn’t use it in an apartment. I am using a treaded tire so that does increase the noise.I’ve been using this for a few months now. With many hours on Zwift! As this is my first fluid trainer I don’t quite know how they work internally. But it appears that the liquid stays close to the center until you reach some sort of threshold and then it moves outward increasing the resistance. This appears to only happen once around 160 watts or more.So if you’re looking for a hard work out right from the beginning make sure to pass that threshold (yours may vary I’m sure) Once there it’s not easy to drop it back down without using the break and giving it a moment to do so. Which in Zwift will practically stop immediately. But outside that it may be an effective strategy if you don’t wish to change gears.Quality is much better than I excepted! I’d guess I could get a few years out of this thing. That being said currently my FTP is only 220. But even now I feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth! The only bad part is the front tire block. I busted mine at some point. But it’s still functional and isn’t in an area to pinch my tire. Getting a better block in the future was my plan anyway.
