Ultrasonic leak detector didn't work for me. I first tried it on a known leak on my air compressor line. Then I tried it on a small known leak on a refrigerant system receiver nothing. Tried it on a coil, nothing. I boxed it back up and sent it back.

I was hopeful this would make pneumatic testing a bit faster and easier, but I was wrong. I've used the same technology with other more expensive brands with a lot of success. This unit however does not have near enough sensitivity. As you can see in the image, the leak shows up using the soap test, but not using this tester. I have the tester set to maximum sensitivity. The air pressure is at 100 psig. Even at 160 psig, this did not detect the leak.The unit will detect a large leak, but anything short of what you can detect audibly yourself and this unit fails. Will be returning. Amazon should not be selling this garbage.

I do work in industrial maintenance so I have used much more expensive equipment. I was a little bit worried that this wouldn't work how I needed it to work. I used it to find a leak in a refrigeration system at home and it worked great. It's plastic, which I would expect for this price, so I plan on treating it as gently as possible. I would recommend picking up some leak detection fluid to go along with it because a lot of times that leak detection fluid will help to amplify the very small and very slow leaks

2 major issues. 1. The thing can't detect anything you can't already hear with normal hearing. While it does detect the frequency as claimed, i could hear pressurized air leaking from my (broken)water pipes with my naked ears WAY before this thing ever lit up its lights.2. The main ultrasonic microphone was so poorly made that when I unscrewed it from the main body to install the other attachment it separated in the wrong threaded location and ripped the wires right out of the assembly. Come to find out it was literally just assembled with a stick of hot glue. Waste of $150.00 and my time. Returned it Pronto.

I bought this product to detect vacuum leaks in a milking machine, and it does not do it.As a result i will be returning the machine

Works great for leak detection in A/C systems.Also works for detecting leaks for wind sound in Autos.Place transmitter inside vehicle, Shut the doors and roll up windows and use detector to scan the vehicle to find leaks that contribute to wind noise.I'm sure I'll find more useful things to do with this device.
