I hooked it up in the bedroom and could hear the ceiling fan on low in a different room. I will go Into the field with it tomorrow. 😁

Somewhat works. You can easily tell sounds are amplified, but worthless for outdoor plumbing. You need to have a longer probe in order to find in ground leaks.

I bought this because I suspect that I have a broken water hydrant in my yard, but I couldn't tell. Well, there was a leak and I could hear it using this device. You just put the probe into the ground and listen for water movement, which is what I heard. It sounded like when my kitchen faucet is running without the water hitting the sink. It comes with two types of head phones, one over ear and one in ear. This unit does work, even though it doesn't feel like it commercial grade, probably home owner grade, but it works.
