They say on the webpage that it's not LED. So it's not very bright. But I've had no trouble reading it. It's easy to use: hang it on the wire, stick the probe into the ground, look at the reading.

Didn't work, don't know if the one I got was faulty but it didn't show a charge even though there was one.

As most of the reviews, it is hard to see, I put it in a small box with the hook exposed cut a narrow slit where the lights are, works great.

It does not indicate the voltage. It does not even indicate the fence is electrified. Don't waist you money

It is hard to see in sunlight, but I just cup my hand over the display to confirm the fence is on. I have no problem doing that. I did wrap a hot wire around a small tree and touched the bark and was surprised it showed the tree conducting the charge.

It worked the first and only time I tried it. A little on the cheap side as far as quality, but I didn’t want to spend to much on one anyway. So if your looking for a cheap option for testing a chicken coop fence then this will work. Just not sure how long it will last!

I wanted a better way to tell if my fence was on than grabbing the wire. This is better, but not by much. The lights are extremely dim in the daylight. Will probably upgrade to a better unit

I have three testers. I have a couple of miles of electric fence with blade switches on all corners. My other testers have voltage numbers only. Very hard to see after dusk. I have a go bag with testers and insulators, pliers, hammer and rubber insulated gloves. This is the only tester that I take with me.

Both of my electric fence controllers output more than 7000V, so it is hard to say if this tester is accurate or not. It is low cost and easy to use, but a bit dim in bright sunlight (you can work around it).The only less expensive way to test the fence is to tell your significant other that yes, the energizer is turned off - but that only works once.
