Add traction to your lawn and driveway without the use of dangerous, corrosive salts with the ecoTraction Pro Winter Snow and Ice Traction Granule Formula. This unique blend is non-toxic and safe for use with children and pets. Made from a naturally occurring volcanic mineral, the granules absorb sunlight after spreading. This causes them to melt into the ice, creating a rough, sandpaper-like surface that provides traction while walking. Unlike salts or other snow-melts, these pellets are completely safe to use with pets, plants, and children. The formula also retains humidity and nutrients after the snow melts, helping encourage plant growth when they reach your garden. The material is non-corrosive and will not damage your lawn or garden, unlike highly corrosive chemical snow melts. EcoTraction Pro features larger granules designed for industrial application, giving you the best value for your money. 1 shovelful of ecoTraction Pro covers as much as 9 shovelfuls of salt.Safe and friendly for your garden and lawn, this natural blend makes snow traversable without nasty chemicals or corrosive salts. Naturally treat your icy walk and lawn with ecoTraction Pro Winter Snow and Ice Traction Granule Formula to make a safe trackway today.

I've use 40# bags of this stuff for years in MN & WI winters on driveways, sidewalks, anywhere folks walk that could be icey. Toss it with a cheap plastic scoop. Works great, isn't salt/chemical to damage concrete or surfaces. Sweep it up in Spring with a broom. :D

It just makes a massive mess I have to clean up in the spring.

I use EcoTraction on our walkway, driveway, and front sidewalk because it doesn’t harm grass or plants and provides excellent traction for vehicles & people. HOWEVER…..it’s sharp and hangs around until we can either sweep it off or wash it off the walkways. It’s sharp and hurts our dogs (and neighbor dogs) paws. It’s also impossible to prevent it from being tracked indoors where humans and animals are continually stepping on after taking our shoes off.I will continue to use it, but will have to pick up the dogs until they’re clear of where I’ve spread it and must vacuum every day it’s used outside. It’s definitely preferable to salt and chemical de-icers.

Unlike what one reviewer said, this is NOT at all like kitty liter, other than being grey in color. I stays down, does not easily track on your shoes, and provides good traction. Very gritty; like walking on course sandpaper. Better than sand and other similar products although too costly for large areas. But for small areas. you can't beat it!

This product is not infallible in preventing falls on ice but it does help a lot. The particles are gravel size (think aquarium) but I remember and sometimes miss the finer stuff they sold when I first discovered it. I’m a regular buyer of the stuff as I live in NW Indiana so we get snow and ice regularly during a normal winter. Walk sensibly and carefully on slick surfaces with this down and you should generally be OK. Use in conjunction with a (pet friendly for us) ice melt and we are winter-ready.

This stuff is great. Because I feed the wildlife, and have a lot of dogs that walk on the sidewalks in my neighborhood, I am very conscious about the products that I use. This stuff is my favorite. It is organic, safe to use on pavers, and withstands new precipitation. In fact, depending upon how much you use, and where you apply it, you may end up sweeping the residual away, at the end of the season. The 40 lb bag is very reasonably priced and I got it well ahead of schedule.

When my new steps were installed they said the warranty was void if I used salt on them. I searched around and came across Ecotraction and have been using it everywhere I would normally have used salt. The traction it creates when it sticks to the ice is like walking on grit - no hint at all that I'm going to slip. It's also pet safe because it's a natural product. I love this product and will never go back to salt based products again and in Maine that's saying something since we get more than our share of ice and snow! I also keep this in the car just in case.
