One rivet wasn't even fully put in before crimping it. A few strap holders are bent. The waste belt doesn't hold and slips. The frame itself seems pretty nice, super light weight.

No doubt you've seen some reviews on this pack where attachment points broke off. Oddly enough, this is a flaw in preparing the pack for shipment, not a design problem. Anyways, when you get the pack, make SURE that none of the attachment points are anchored into the flat metal brackets. If they are, undo them and re-rig it properly by making sure the attachement straps go AROUND the frame and not the riveted brackets. It's ok if you locate the strap on a part of the frame that has a bracket, just NOT attached directly to those brackets. (See pictures)Also, the shelf at the bottom of the pack has two suspension straps. If you adjust these straps so that the full burden of weight is NOT on the shelf hinge, you won't break the hinge points. Properly adjusted they'll act like a hammock and help the pack last a lifetime.I ended up fitting a 5'x7' nylon tarp to this frame (by sewing button holes in the tarp) and bought some tiedown straps. I can wrap up just about any load I need with this, and at 50+ pounds of gear, it's holding up just fine. Finally, you'll notice I've attached the tie-down straps to the external riveted brackets. I only do this when the pack is empty or hauling a very light load. If the load is heavier, make sure your tie-down straps are woven around the main frame to prevent breakage.Happy Trails!

I am giving this pack 4 stars. It loses one star for being sent to me incorrectly rigged. (more on that below) Once rigged correctly, it ought to preform well. While I could complain about the cheap (ish) webbing and the cheap (ish) buckles - the frame is strong and it has many attributes that I could not find in any other frame. It is also $125... While most freighter packs seem to used by (and designed for) meat haulers - I needed one to help portage a small 2 stroke outboard from lake to lake. The fact that this pack has a shelf with no 'floor' was a big plus as the motor length requires that the prop extend beyond the bottom of the pack. If the shelf was 'canvas wrapped' or had a 'shelf platform', the engine part of the motor would then be above my head as the prop would then rest on the shelf. Another big plus with this pack are the multiple riveted 'strap loops' that line the vertical posts of the pack. These metal strap loops help you get a tight cinch on your non-provided straps - by preventing the straps from sliding around on the vertical posts. Loaded up with 55lbs.. and it felt like nothing. A very well designed pack made out of mediocre+ nylon, straps, and buckles. I am sure that this pack will find its way under my needle after after a few trips... but any repairs could be done on the fly. A note on the rigging... My pack was sent with the nylon straps incorrectly attached to the frame. The straps, rather than being wrapped AROUND the frame through the 'strap loops'... were instead attached directly the strap loops! - without encircling the frame. That is insane. I would strongly discourage you from loading anything onto the pack until you examine the manner in which your straps have been attached on your pack. Also.... the lower shoulder strap attachment point is (bewilderingly) attached to the folding shelf. It is easy to remove this strap and to re-attached it to your preferred joint on the frame. Providing that you use the strap loops as 'strap loops only' and not as attachment points, the pack should last. Even with 27 lb outboard and 15 lb tent... a nine year old could carry it. There was no twist and no flex. It was remarkably comfortable. Now let's see if it survives Temagami.

Barely used. I’ll update if necessary. Frame is solid. Straps are two thin. It was assembled incorrectly. AND NO IT WILL NOT WORK WITH MILITARY ISSUE RUCKS. Frame is to wide. That’s on me though. It’s versatility is why I bought it. Still exploring that. Now that I need a ruck to fit it.....

All right let me start with saying I am backpacking and hitchhiking the US I'm coming from California the first state I'm in is Arizona and now im in city of Sedona the frame is pretty solid very useful very sturdy it's got many little metal loops to tie your stuff and attach many things to it but let's talk about the straps straps for cheap the hip belt clip already broke I have to tie it which is using a string the shoulder straps have fallen out time to time I had to put them back in they haven't ripped yet though they're still functionable overall the straps are cheap but they will work under the right conditions now I'm rating this 5 stars because it is fully functionable for most needs especially mine it works now I'm replacing the straps I ordered some online and I'll give you guys an update how that goes I purchased them from Amazon $15 bucks now for 80 bucks you would hope you would get a little bit more durable straps but I got it open box for about $70 no I'm not using it for hunting so I have no idea if it will reach your hunting use but I bought it for the use of oversized 90 l seabag AKA pickle and for my needs it has work excellent now there's not a huge amount of options for durable frames on Amazon but I'm satisfied I don't know if I would recommend it cuz I don't know what your needs are but for me I am satisfied I possibly might buy it again if I ever needed it other information is I carry about 50 lb in my back comfortably I weigh about 160 I hope this information helps I also purchased my military US grade seabag on Amazon brand new condition but sold used $33 bucks

3.5-year-olds can't hike as far as adults! Who knew? After having to carry her in my arms for a few kilometres on one outing, I got this. Put plywood on the bottom shelf and off we go.

This frame is SUPER! I bought it to help me lug my 80L dry duffle. I crammed that thing full and could barely lift it! It too three straps (bought separately) to tie it on to the frame, (just the right amount of tie down loops)... I had to sit down to get it on and buckled but WOW, did it ever even out the weight! Hopefully, I can figure out how to attach my 30 yr old sleeping bag...Very pleased!

At first I was unsure if this frame would footslog some weight, but surprisingly it hustled around 60-70 pounds rather bravely. It does have a small issue with middle beam in the back of spine, so I wouldn't see using this frame over the long haul into the Alps :) but cannot beat it for the price and sturdy quality if you want to do a shorter camp carry, move some supplies or game. Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Bought this pack frame to carry 50lb bags of corn into my stands. I use to carry the bags over my shoulder. This frame makes the job much easier. I bought some extra straps to help secure the load. It takes less than a minute to load the bag on the frame, put it on and off I go. The frame is very sturdy and the shoulder straps are comfortable. The weight is distributed evenly and comfortable to carry.
