I replace my current garbage disposal with the exact same one however my teen is not a plumber, we went to Lowes for advice and YouTube. Make sure you knock out the block that the dishwasher hose connects to and get plumbers putty/pudding. If h and this doesn’t come with any instructions.

Comes without a power cord and plug. And the splash guard is so deformed, it is useless. I had to buy a splash guard - another $10.00 out-of=pocket, and the instructions were so smashed and crumpled up, I had to iron them flat before I could read them. This is another made-in china POS that costs more than twice what it's worth. I would not recommend!

When we moved into our home (more than 10 years ago) our garbage disposal was broken, but we were too intimidated to replace it. Honestly, I had NO experience with plumbing. So scary! However, thanks to watching MANY YouTube videos, I FINALLY gained enough courage to take on a direct replacement for my old disposal and I couldn't be happier with the results. My old disposal was hard wired in, so I didn't order the cord. (Sold separately.) However, I did need a voltage detector to make sure that NO electricity was going to the disposal after I shut off power at the circuit breaker. Since I was doing a directer replacement, the wiring was the same as the old unit: black to black, white to white, ground wire looped around the grounding screw. I reused the wire nuts and the clamp connector (not included) from my old disposal. This disposal wasn't as heavy as I was expecting (about the same weight as my cat) so it wasn't too heavy for me to maneuver. As far as performance, this disposal is POWERFUL! The motor has a nice sound to it. I'm so pleased!! Would recommend this disposal to others.

Excellent product. Great low price. Installed in 15 minutes. Only 2 year warranty but other reviews say no problems so we will see.

This was the second one I've installed, and it was easier than the first. The EZ mount system doesn't require plumber's putty and worked like a charm with my stainless steel sink. Some reviews said it took two people pushing to get the unit in place, but once I added petroleum jelly to the top of the unit where it turns inside the metal ring that you see in the picture, it easily turned into place. This tip was a suggestion in the directions, but some people may not have tried it. The unit is actually quieter than the one it replaced, and has taken care of everything we put down it. It doesn't come with a power cord, but I was able to use the one from the old unit with no problem. My only concern is that it doesn't have a place to insert a hex-type tool to manually turn the unit to loosen it if it freezes up or something gets jammed in it. Some reported this unit froze up with rust from non-use, so you may not want to use it where it doesn't get regular use. I've used a tool many times with other units to free them, so I'm not sure what I can do if it happens to this one. Otherwise, I'm very pleased and the only way I could be happier is if it lasts 10 years, so we'll wait and see!

Compact and affordable, this unit was to replace a Whirlaway 191 that came with the home we bought. The 191 lasted for 14 years, so I figured I'd stick with the same brand and see if we have the same luck. The 291 is a bit stronger at 1/2 HP vs the 191's 1/3 HP, so it is also a slight upgrade.Installation is fairly easy and the instructions are thorough. No power cable is included but I was able to keep the cable used on the older unit. Few tools are needed for the installation (all I needed was a screwdriver) and this model, when used with steel sinks does not even need plumber's putty.I'd looked at other brands and models and while I could have upgraded the power significantly, the 1/2 HP unit is sufficient for our home needs and the other units would have taken up more space under the sink. The vendor Amazon used for this product was very prompt on shipping and so far the unit works fine. We are pleased and hope this unit can last as long as the prior one did.UPDATE: I looked around a bit on Amazon, and it appears the "Waste King L-1001 Legend Series 1/2 HP" is similar if not identical to this. It has a better warranty and comes with the power cord for about the same price. Because of this, I'm dropping a star off the rating. I am happy with my purchase, but if you want a unit that comes with the power cord, check this other model out.

My husband and I just love this product. We bought it because our old Insinkerator was leaking and just wasn't grinding very well anymore. Besides that, I wanted a smaller disposal because my paper towel rack is mounted on the inside door of the sink base and I wanted to be able to use the jumbo rolls of paper towels.I searched the internet, found this model, read all the reviews, saw that the price was right ($44.99 + $16.99 S&H), and decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. This machine is a little powerhouse that grinds quickly and efficiently (even canteloupe rinds). Because of it's smaller size, I can fit my jumbo rolls of paper towels and more cleaning supplies, etc. under the sink than I could before. The only drawback was since neither my husband nor I are do-it-yourselfers, we had to hire a plumber and it took him about two hours to install (he said is was different from any other disposal he had installed, whatever that means). So that was a little pricey but it was worth every cent. I would buy this product again in a heartbeat.
