This is the die you need for Datsun 240z rear stub axles, just FYI. I screwed up my threads pretty badly when removing the original axle nuts. This die cleaned them up beautifully. The new axle nut spins on very easily now. Excellent die, made in Japan. The hardest part is getting it starting, making sure you’re plowing the original threads and not plowing new ones. Be sure to use some type of oil when cutting the threads. I used generic 3in1 oil, worked fine. I also just used a pair of channel locks to turn, also worked fine. Hopefully this review salvages your stub axles too!

Doing an oil change and found a stripped bolt (or 2) on the filter adapter. Really had 2 choices: replace the entire part ($80-120) and a couple hours of work, or rethread the bolts with a die. Have done the same with wheel lug bolts (rather than changing them). And yes, a single die for a single purpose is always more expensive up front, but it is such a time saver, for me it justifies the cost. Solid tool. No problems using it.
