The city requires us to have 16 of these to be in compliance with the fire ordinance. They are easy to install but if we get over 15 months before it dies out and looks terribly weathered we are lucky. The price fluctuates so when I see a good price I purchase 6 to 12 at a time. At first the brightness is great but that quickly fades but in all fairness we are buy the ocean and the sea air is hard on electronics.

When I first ordered this exit sign, it was primarily for amusement. However, I quickly realized that it also had some utility. The double-faced design allows for viewing from many directions, making it ideal for navigating the garage in the event of a power outage (speaking from experience). The vivid green lettering stick out, offering clear direction and a useful reference point. The battery backup option saves me time by ensuring that the sign remains lit even during unexpected energy outages. The hardwired installation also provides a consistent connection and avoids the need for routine maintenance. While it began as a joke, the LED emergency exit sign has proven to be a really useful and important addition to my garage.

It installs easy, and in most cases its cheaper to replace the whole fixture then the old heavy lead battery's in the old outdated signs!

My initial reaction when there was no evidence of any instructions was frustration. I was afraid of breaking the case as I finally managed to pry one side off. Inside, there were the most basic instructions ever...basically how to wire it, with NO information as to how the case is supposed to be removed, how to configure the arrows on the EXIT panels (an extra one is included so you can use it two-sided if necessary). Everything was accomplished by experimenting, including how to attach the model plastic mounting bracket. I only opened the first of six I ordered, and found broken parts. The sign panels are held in place by plastic "caps" that fit on the top of a molded stud that goes through the sign panel in three places. It appears they are just friction fit, because I found one rolling around in the case, one broken in half (how?????) rolling around in the case, and no sign at all of the third one. Once powered up, it seems to work fine, but due to frustration and poor manufacturing quality, three stars is all I can comfortably give.

I have not yet installed any of these signs, so this review is just based on the appearance right out of the box, and therefore I cannot comment on the brightness. However, the build quality is definitely good - all heavy plastic, and it has an option to connect to power from the side or the top. You can choose to light one side only (the default) or make it double-sided. The two arrows are covered by a plate that can be snapped out so you can choose one direction or both. However, once the arrow tabs are removed, they are not made to go back in, so don't make a mistake. All in all, these appear to be a very good deal for a pack of 6.
