I purchased this so I could stop throwing out yard waste and turn it into mulch for the garden. Several months later and I'm honestly shocked it's still alive after all I've thrown at it. During one incident, I went a little crazy after buying some long arm pruners and cut off a few hundred pounds of wood off the maple tree in my front yard. Not sure what I was thinking, but I was there for 3 days chipping wood. I thought for sure it would kill this thing, but it handled it like a champ. I've used it several times since and gotten a lot of good mulch out of it. It's nice to throw fresh mulch in the garden and not have to mess with weeds. I will be using it quite a bit here before spring starts to trim down another few trees/bushes. Seeing I've gotten so much use out of it, I'd say it's a great value. It does clog up once in a while, but it's easy to open and fix. Def get some ear protection, because it's not quiet :) Get one and get to chipping!

My old Ryobi burnt out and I bought this as a replacement. It is manufactured from plastic and metal and is quite sturdy. Lighter than my all metal original machine. So far, I have used it for about eight hours, almost non-stop, and it hasn't flinched once! Mostly, I have been cutting back and, consequently, chipping masses of overgrown hedging to use as mulch.. The branches threaded have ranged from 2mm to about 25mm diameter. (Beyond this width, I have used a small bowsaw and not put the stems through.) It is very quick to gobble up the cuttings. Yes, there is some noise, particularly as the larger branches are being consumed, but this is bearable and no complaints from neighbours so far. So, to sum up, whilst appearing to be a trite flimsy, it has stood up well to my cack-handed pushing, pulling and shoving.

All as described and very quick to arrive. Video instruction was very helpful in assembling the product. Managed to shred a ton of twigs and branches from my garden without a problem. After sale service is amazing and will definitely recommend. Had a query with the product and customer service didn't hesitate to help me. Excellent after sales service

Hubby put a straight 3/4 inch branch through it and it bounced around and got stuck. Don't waste your money. I ordered it as a Christmas gift for him and now I'm past my window of returning it.We have a gas chipper, but thought it would be convenient to have something smaller for smaller jobs. At least it's small enough to fit in the trash can, because that's where it's going.

Purchased this chipper to shred branches for two trees that I cut down. Only lasted a month. Unlike other chippers, it is not self feeding. You have to feed it to shred the branches. Worked great in the beginning and thought it had a lot of promise. Initially it would chop the wood into nice chips but after a while it was not and on the branches it was stripping the exterior bark off and would discharge what looked like branch spaghetti. I suspected that the blades needed to be replaced but there is no easy way to lock the allen wrenches to get them lose or out. The motor stopped working after about a month and I returned it to Amazon for a refund.

I was missing hardware, and aftercare customer service saved the day and took care of it immediately. I would buy and recommend AIVOLT in the future.I purchased the shredder, chipper for my hot 3 bin composting. During late spring I needed more browns and wanted to be able to shred cardboard boxes. The opening for this is about 6” (150mm). I set up my table saw to run strips of cardboard to fit and the shredder seemed to perform better when cardboard was large enough to be folded over slightly on the ends. I did jam it up a few times by pushing it through the blades too fast. Be careful with that because the blade area will be very hot and the blades are very sharp. Use something like a screwdriver to pull jammed cardboard out of blades. It came with replacement blades that might be double edged, I forget, haven’t needed them yet. It’s not quite as loud as my table saw. The dogs, ducks, goose, chickens, rooster did not seemed bothered by what I was doing. Putting it together was easy and it’s pretty sturdy for my needs. I haven’t sent branches through it yet, but I did put Kale, carrots, and other food scraps through it to speed up the composting process. For this I used the bag which was tricky but doable and the wet foods built up in the machine a little bit as was expected, but I’ll continue using it in these ways.It rolls well, the extension cord never came out on its own, and it about the size of my Ryobi pressure washer, so I can keep it in the small tool sheds or corner of the garage. It’s a pretty small footprint and light enough to be lifted if needed.

Putting it together I was thinking I should have bought a higher dollar machine but after using it I was pretty happy with it.

I've had at least a half dozen shredders over the years, all of them at least twice the size and three times the weight of this one- there's a lot of plastic in this. Some of it is worrisome; for instance there's a piece that holds branches against the blade that really should be metal; it takes a lot of wear. The support (legs-wheels) is also pretty minimal, but it's not supporting a lot of weight. The motor, however, is quite robust and does a nice job with small branches (haven't tried anything bigger than 3/4 inch), at least while the blades are sharp. The blades appear to be a type that is common to many different machines and is easily available, but I haven't tried actually switching them. For general soft trimmings it is not so good- the mouths of these things are always small (so people won't be shoving in 6" branches) but this one is even smaller, and what they refer to as a "hopper" has a capacity of about a cup and a half. The supplied pusher is poorly designed and tends to catch when you try to pull it out. All in all a cheaply made machine, but then it was quite cheap, and it's getting the job done so far. Easier to put away than most.

Only thing I dislike is that it's difficult to feed branches much smaller than 40 mm when not straight or with connections (Y- or T-shape). Other than that it does the job very well. Make sure to empty the bag frequently!
