Worked great with my 05 forester. Keep in mind water pump is for manual transmission vehicles due to not having engine oil cooler

Lots of components match what the Subaru dealer sells, and it was available for an even better price than the gates kit. Kit is very in depth and even provides torque specifications and install instructions.

Bought for a 2002 subaru forester and it says it fits my car. Got it to my Subaru certified mechanic and he tore into my car got everything ready and opened the box and amazingly it was for a Honda or something but definitely not a Subaru. All in all it cost me $350 now because I had to pay for labor to take my car apart and reassemble it for at this point nothing. And he’ll have to do it again when I get him the correct part. He said the parts were great quality and that these are the brand he recommended but not the right fitment for the car. Thanks for costing me so much unnecessary money Amazon.Take your chances if you will but know that it might not be the right part in your box.

Installed on a EJ251 02 Impreza RS. The kit arrived on time undamaged. Only thing I wish it has was the orange shim for the timing belt guide over the crankshaft. I measured the clearance with a feeler gauge to the best of my ability as my car is a 5 speed and requires it. Everything fit as it should.

This is a great kit overall. I am glad that all of the parts are genuine and made in Japan. The installation and fitment is everything it should be without any gotchas or unexpected hurdles. My only complaint is that the water pump I got with this kit did not match the OEM Subaru pump I pulled off (only replacing because it hit the 200k mile service interval). Prior to purchasing this kit, I had been looking around for a timing belt kit and separate water pump. During that time I found that Aisin sells a WPF-002 pump that matches the OEM design with a cast impeller that is a full disc. I thought that was the pump I would get with this kit as I did not see any other compatible part numbers, but no. The pump I got has the cheaper stamped steel impeller (6-8 fin star shape) that a lot of cheaper aftermarket replacement pumps use instead of the cast impeller. It likely has no difference on cooling performance during normal use, but I would have much preferred the OEM cast impeller design as it matches the OEM pump I replaced.

I installed this kit on a 2004 Subaru Impreza outback sport, EJ25 motor. Perfect fit, OEM quality, which is very important on a Subaru. Do not recommend any non Subaru or non Japanese parts on any Subaru

Just be very careful to line up those timing marks as the cams will move on you when you put on the belt.2001 Subaru Outback 2.5L

Bought for 03 forester , kit has quality bearings & water pump , great belt , my complaint is aisin had a problem with missing components ( specifically the cog toothed idler ) amazon sent me 3 kits before I received a complete set. Kits boxed after 2/14/19 were complete , double check the supplied spec/install sheet as I believe their spec for crank pulley/balancer bolt torque procedure is not correct to o.e.m. Book , other wise this is a fantastic kit , I would buy again

All components are Japanese made, they are direct replacements for the OEM parts. Two bearings are NSK, the other is Koyo, the "Auto Tensioner" is NTN, the timing belt is Mitsubishi and marked with timing marks, making it easy to verify your initial timing marks are lined up.The water pump is a direct replacement and includes a new OEM metal gasket and replacement thermostat gasket, this metal gasket is prefered over felt type gaskets.Note: Be careful not to torque down the water pump too tight it only needs 8.7 lbs. The attached image is the tightening sequence. You tighten to 8.7lbs, then go over the sequence again A-F to make sure things are snug, again only 8.7lbs needed. It's only aluminum, so buy yourself a torque wrench for this lower end torque range.Idler/bearing bolts are torqued to 26-32lbs I torqued all to 29 lbs including tensioner.Detailed instructions are included with the kit with torque specs. I recommend that you do not go with a cheaper kit as those kits contain parts that are made in China. This kit is a direct replacement using the same parts when originally manufactured. The kit also includes a sticker to mount under the hood, I mounted mine on the intake cover. You can write the date installed and mileage when installed. This makes it much easier to track when the timing belt and parts were changed.Note: This is an interference engine if your belt or idlers fail your engine will suffer. Replacing these parts at the prescribed interval of 105,000 miles for my 2005 Outback 2.5i will save you the cost of new heads, valves, possibly pistons etc.One last note that the instructions state to turn the engine by hand two revolutions to verify that the timing marks remain line up. This means that the timing marks on the cam and crank gears line up. The timing lines that are on the timing belt will not line up at this point which is okay, as long as the timing marks on the cam and crank gears line up, that is what you are looking for.Anyone can do this work, just take your time and pay attention to the details.

This is an excellent deal. It is the same price that the local stores charge for a generic "store brand" kit but being Aisin, this kit is all OEM quality. The bearings were name brand and made in Japan, and the belt is Mitsuboshi. Basically you get real OEM quality but at half the price of buying all the parts from a dealer. In case you are wondering if you should cough up the extra money for the idlers/water pump or try to go cheap and just replace the belt... don't do it. The idler in the attached picture blew itself apart at 200,000 miles and torpedoed the engine. Do it right and replace the entire kit, it is much cheaper than replacing the engine.
