Is this the fashion accessory of the year, no. Is it comfortable and does it do its job of immobilizing your leg, yes. This thing provides just as much support as a cast but can be removed for showering and whatnot. I’ve had to wear a couple boots over the years and this one is by far the most comfortable one I’ve worn. It’s easy to adjust and easy to walk with, it’s not heavy and is not too bulky.

This has the greatest protection of the leg. My dogs like to jump all over. I am still NWB for the leg and it has had the best functionality. What I don't like was that the protection areas are not as large as I would want them to be. Most likely due to my injury, it does cause some rubbing on the right side. You must wear padded socks, or a sock and the sock they provide. This provides the most comfort in the boot. I wore a compression stocking and a regular sock during the day, and compression and full length sock at night.Otherwise, so far, it is a great boot. I will know more when I can start walking and have to use it for physical therapy.

I got fitted with a Breg from my ortho that was a size too big because I still had swelling at that point. When swelling went down it was WAY too big (a large! For my US7.5 shoe size! When large is like 10+) and way too heavy. Insurance only covers one of course so I took to Amazon. I read a lot of reviews of various tall braces and decided this seemed like the best option (and quickest delivery).I am happy to say my broken ankle doesn’t hurt anymore and this is so much easier to use (one less hook and loop strap, but not missed). I also have a broken wrist (on the same side) and can say that even though the straps on the right (my injured side) it’s not difficult to cross my left hand over to close/open them.Very happy with the padding and the air cushioning. The only minor negative is there is no flap over the toe tips so if your foot is a little long it’ll get cold. I bought some socks designed for use with braces and that solves my cold foot issue (hooray winter).

I've never had a broken bone, but broke my ankle this week, not fun. My docs PT guy have me a breg boot size med. $332.00. I told him it felt too big he checked and said it should be fine, and I wouldn't want my toes hanging over. It was awful!!! So I researched online, and because I assumed the $$$ breg must be good because the doctor is selling it, I started there... they were backordered on the breg size small so I went with the aircast elite full boot small as it was really the only other boot that had 3 air chambers as well. I'm normally a women's size 8 shoe and said it fit sizes 5-8. I LOVE IT! I don't do these reviews often, but thought it might help someone in my boat. I'm 5.6, 140ish, normal size calves and ankle. This small is perfect, lightweight, comfortable, I will say my toes hang over the under pad a tiny bit, but are still covered by the flap and doesn't bother me. Beyond happy with a smaller size boot, the other was way too heavy and not a snug fit. The only difference I see between this and the breg, other than it is fantastic, the breg looks as though it may have more shock absorbing on the bottom; which I'm sure is good, but I don't feel the difference in the way either of them strike the ground. The elite aircast still feels like it has enough bounce and frankly maybe that was why the breg is so dang heavy or cause it was flat out too big for me. It was honestly like trying to turn over with cinder blocks on my leg at night. Too be clear, the breg seemed like a nice boot, but likely to big for me and so heavy. This is just as nice, costs less and worked better for me. Sorry you are hurt, hope this helps! I put 5 stars for stretch, just wanted to give a good rating, but it's an odd question as think boots are supposed to be supportive, not strechy... that said it's well built with good quality, supportive, not flimsy plastic, just to be clear.

Of the three boots I've worn, this one works best as a walking boot.I'm recovering from surgery on a severely broken ankle. After the surgical dressings and splints came off, my surgeon put me in a big black Frankenstein boot. I thought it was poorly designed -- it weighed a ton, and the metal bars that ran up each side, pressed on the surgical sites on my anklebones. I now know that it was probably the best available option for post surgical recovery, because of the soft body with it's good inflation and size flexibility. After two months, when I was allowed to begin putting weight on my ankle, I began looking for a boot that would be easier to walk in -- something smaller and lighter, with a thinner, more shoe-like sole. I decided on an Ossur Rebound. My son wore one last year for an ankle sprain/tear. I wear a women's size 8, have a fairly narrow foot, damaged ankle, and normally a muscular calf (which has shrank during convalescence to a smaller than average size). His medium was huge on me, so I didn't hesitate to order the small recommended by their size chart. This was a bad choice for me. The boot was long enough, but very narrow; especially in the ankle and calf. It was light, and the most shoe-like of the walking boots, so the small would be fine for someone up to about a size 7, with a narrow foot and small calf. Then there's a big gap to the next size -- I wouldn't recommend an Ossur medium for anyone under a women's size 10. It was a fairly expensive bad choice, because I had to pay shipping both coming and going, and a 15% restocking fee.I replaced it with this Aircast. The sizing is different, so I went with a medium. It fits Ok, it's medium weight, has decent traction, and I can walk in it. I can also pull the leg of most of my pants down over it. I had to roll them up above the black cam boot. Buy a wool felt insole, and the loose cotton Aircast tubesocks to wear with it. This will make it more comfortable, and help with perspiration. The biggest problems with it are that it's hot, and has a hard "lip" at the back that has bruised my other shin if I try to cross my leg, or turn over carelessly at night.
