Funtions:

- Can detect the transistor, MOSFET protection diode amplification coefficient and the base to determine the emitter transistor forward biased voltage

- Can measure a single diode reverse capacitance

Notice: Before measuring capacitance , the capacitor must be discharged , otherwise very likely damage the meter

Great for getting threshold voltages from transistors and voltage drops from capacitors. Saves me a lot of time.

I wish I could use the product but the screen is cracked, there was no protection over the lcd module, when I got the bubble envelope it felt very thin.

PROS:A) Easy to readB) Fast to readC) Identifies a wide range of parts, known or unknown to you. Including LED’s (lights them) and much more. It spells it all out. Its functions are well documented already. A must have for the bench at this price.CONS: (CAPACITORS) A) : No direct-read for lower value Microfarad caps at least not down to around 3mF and lower. An annoyance. ie., You better know that 1103nf readout means you have a 1.1uf cap. 99.7nf means you have a .1uf cap. You’re unsure if you have a .047uf or is it a .0047uf?, What should it read? Quick! Good luck, do the work. The machine won't do it for you. Math brains will scoff. They like decoding things keeping their brains sharp. I can see that but....myself, I like a tool to behave like one and do the work for me. It already does so much, how hard could it be to program in some conversion. I hope they do in the future. The Atlas tester gives such direct readout and accurate ESR but its a capacitor tester only and only down to 1uf. No perfect all-in-one (yet).B) Hit or miss on capacitor ESR; unreliable and documented in many online video reviews. Again, I recommend Peak Atlas for that.C) can't read low pF caps. I had “unknown parts" to ID but it gave no reading. Were they dead? Later tested it on a dedicated capacitor tester. They were 20pf caps. Turns out this device doesn't test that low. Too bad I have parts drawers filled with such devices and many aren’t' labeled.SUMMARY: I recommend it, It does alot. Definitely worth the small cost for all that it does. For Capacitors though-- have a supplemental tester if you need accuracy of ESR figures or can’t deal with thousand-place decimal conversion all the time.WISH LIST: Have direct math conversion built-in down to .001 uf for capacitance, Read down to 10pF, improve ESR accuracy.

Handy little tool saved me from buying a new multimeter. My multimeter wasn’t reading resistors correctly and I didn’t want to buy a new one just for that reason. This saved the day! And aside for resistors, it also tests capacitors, diodes and transistors. Very good.

...delivered faster than by "slow boat".....works well for general testing of electronic components. I am very impressed with how it simply figures out which lead is which, and then shows a mini-schematic on the display. I bought 2 of these, and they agree reasonably well with each other when measuring the same component. I will likely get a couple more as Christmass gifts for my friends in electronics.

It's very interesting how such a simple and inexpensive tool can work so well.I first saw this product on the EEVblog channel on YouTube and was perplexed and impressed.Like a couple other buyers, mine came with the LCD detached from the backlight. Fortunately, my LCD ribbon cable was not torn and I was able to simply hot glue the edges of the LCD securely back in place. That is my only criticism so far.

Works perfectly, comes fully assembled, and a super deal. Basically the same electronically as units that cost three as much. Best way to go if you just want to try a 328 tester. Amazing unit since in years back, a tester such as this might cost $10K (if available). I made a cheap case from a plastic electric box and added a power switch. In terms of accuracy, I haven't measured all the functions but the voltage and resistance measurements are within .5% of a lab grade tester so more than sufficient for typical use. No instructions of course, but they can be found on the net since all 328 based testers are basically the same and it's largely automatic.

It's amazing that you can get something this useful for such a small amount of money. I used it to diagnose capacitors in a power supply in a LCD TV. It was able to read most of the capacitors in the circuit, but some of them had to be removed from the circuit to get a good reading. It's just a bare circuit board, so it needs some kind of mounting. I used a router bit in my drill press to cut a recess in a piece of high density foam to fit the board and the battery. Took about 15 minutes to make a suitable mounting for the board. Contrary to another comment, I found no current drain from the battery when the board was not in use, so see no need for a switch to isolate the battery. I don't have any high-dollar meters to compare this with, but I did manage to identify a dead capacitor with it, so it paid for itself on the first use.
