I'd give it 5 stars, but few read the 5 star reviews, so placing it here. Just completed 2.5 acres of dense grass thatching. Worked perfectly - impressive results for a very low cost machine. Instructions are fine for anyone that's handy. Avoid trying to use a hammer or punch to clamp in the tines - a large 8" flat screwdriver pries them down easily and snugly. I placed two 35 lb cinder blocks on it. Space them evenly to avoid oscillation. I centered each one over a wheel so that it doesn't tip when adding or removing the blocks. My zero-turn's hitch is 11-1/2" off the ground. Tines are flat to the ground but it's at max adjustment, meaning if your hitch is higher than 11-1/2" you'll need to do some modifying. Yes the handle seems flimsy with weights on the machine, but it's only used when transporting or going over a driveway or the like. Simply assist the lift with your hand under the FRONT of the tine shield (to avoid pinching fingers) and the handle is less stressed. Lower the same way. PRO TIP - keep toes out from under the machine when lowering!

The tunes work just fine, but the way it’s fabricated could be improved. The tray that holds blocks/weights has no ends on it, so if you’re dethatching grounds that’s rough, or has roots or rocks you either need to strap down your weights or expect to get up off the mower regularly to pick them up.The handle’s locking mechanism to hold the wheels in the down position also isn’t great. Compared to the aerator I purchased (different manufacturer) the locking mechanisms are night and day different.

Took about an hour to assemble. Was a little unclear what holes were what for some parts. I had a really difficult time bending the tabs over the spring thatch wires. Instructions said to use a screwdriver. No screwdriver I own could bend that gauge of sheet metal. Luckily I had a mini crowbar that did the trick. once assembled, I leveled it for my mower hitch and was surprised how well it works and how fast I could drag it. I suspected that it might jump or be prone to flip. It's very stable and I was able to make several passes on lawn in short period of time. It did a great job of pulling thatch and also areated a little by digging into the soil about 1/8 to 1/4 inch in most areas of lawn. I did have to stop occasionally and pull clumps of leaves and weeds out of it. If your yard is weed free, doubt you would have this issue.

Leider kann ich nicht viel über dieses Teil sagen, da ich es für meinen Sohn bestellt habe.Auf Nachfrage sagte er , das es etwas zu leicht ist und er es vereändern mußt . aber im großen und ganzen scheint es zu klappen

In the pictures it seems a little flimsy, but I was wrong, this thing is solid. I was a little skeptical about how well this would work and how well it would hold up, but it performed great. I thought I would need a lot of extra weight to get this device to do the job, but honestly after trying it with 70 lbs, I ended up buying smaller bricks and going down to 50. After doing my whole lawn, I think it only really needs 25-30 lbs on the back to work really well. I used this to dethatch while mowing and then swept the lawn with , and the end result was great. I did it after a long day of rain and so the soil was easy to rake out and pull up thatch, loose, and dead grass. The lawns looks perfect now to overseed. It will probably take a couple seasons of growing and dethatching to get a really full lawn, but I am happy with the results far. Also wanted to comment that while the picture assembly instructions are not terribly clear, it was not that difficult to put this item together. Took me about and hour and I was up and running.
