I had fun making my first scratcher and measured my pieces to fit inside a small box. It takes some getting used to and how to hold it to keep the strips straight and even. It does cut well and my fingers are protected. My first scratcher took about 3 medium to small boxes, so an adequate cardboard supply is a must. The cats have been sleeping in it since I gave it to them and seem to like it. I wish they would have included tips on how to use, how to prepare and set up for an easier experience and maybe some design ideas and instructions on something other than a flat box shape. I must admit it was fun to make something that they actually like and am looking forward to making other things. No instructions on how to change the blade if it can be or replacement blades.
