But during the cooler half of the year they sometimes have more green on their leaves than red. You will receive a live healthy adult sized Red Dragon Venus Flytrap Plant. It comes with a 3 inch net pot, just like the one in the picture, moss appropriate for carnivorous plant soil loosely packed, and a full page detailed caresheet explaining how to take care of Venus Flytraps. All you will need is a bowl or saucer to hold the Venus Flytrap's pot that it comes with and a little bit of water, a gallon or so of reverse osmosis or distilled water, and a sunny window or a place in the yard to put your Venus Flytrap in. Humidity domes and year round warm weather is not necessary. Don't be fooled by other offers for Venus Flytraps that have them arrive in or with terrariums or humidity domes. These type of plants have strong light requirements and it is a myth that they need high humidity. The truth is that Venus Flytrap setups with terrariums or humidity domes almost always cause these types of plants to eventually die. They need to be grown in open air with containers that allow air to get into their soil and there should be little to block or diffuse their lighting.

Been bit over 2 weeks since i plants, got two plants in the packagae neither one looked all that healthy on opening the package, No instructions with plants, ive had venus fly traps for years so not new to them and have grown venus fly traps - sundews - Nepenthes for various typos of carnivorous plants, potted them up as per his online video, both plants dead- as a door nail now never perkedup or showed signs of being a healthy plant roots tips at planting did not show a nice bright tip as they should that indicates a healthy growing tip to roots. total waste of $36.55 with the shipping

Let me start by saying I’ve purchased some EXPENSIVE plants online, and they had nowhere near as much care put Into them. From delicate packaging, to the SEVERAL pages of extremely useful information, I couldn’t have been more impressed. Also, very impressed with the shipping time, for only $5.95 it only took 4 days to get to me, you can’t really ask for better!The actual plant was in such perfect condition, beautiful red color, and really a large plant for the price! The little pot and growing medium it comes with was so helpful and made me feel like I actually had a shot of keeping this bad boy alive.I can’t say enough good things about Joel’scarnivorousplants, and I can not wait to get more plants in the future! 😃

I bought two, one for me and one for a friend, each consisting of two plants. In my package, one plant is showing signs of distress: two traps turning black, a small trap and another trap that is not closing for live food. Unfortunately, the entire plant is now deteriorating. The second plant is doing ok.Im not a great plant parent and I didn’t follow directions perfectly. I have attached a photo of my plants after arrival and in its current condition.I appreciate the thorough instructions and materials for the plants that the seller included. Only giving it 4 stars because one of my plants was in rough condition upon arrival.

This large red dragon venus fly trap arrived in great shape. The root was wrapped in moist paper towels, and the entire plant was wrapped in plastic. The package arrived in just a few days, and when I opened it up, I was impressed by how big the plant was (see first photo).Shipping always takes a toll on plants, so it took a few days for the plant to fully recover. As shown in the attached photograph, my plant perked up very quickly and within a few days was growing very well.I would suggest looking at the videos that are provided by the seller. They are very clear and describe the process of repotting in very simple terms.Key to successfully growing venus fly traps is using the right potting medium, which the seller included in the shipment (sphagnum moss). The enclosed mesh pot was a definite plus . Also, the instructions are very clear about using nothing but distilled water as any other kind of tap water can kill the plants within just a few days.I have successfully grown other venus fly traps indoors, and key to growing them indoors is giving them 4 to 8 hours/day of direct sunlight - less than that and they don't last. Plus, a winter dormant period is a must.This seller knows what he is doing, having over a decade of experience growing and shipping carnivorous plants. I would definitely deal with him again.UPDATE: Three-months after arrival, this plant is incredible (see second photo). So glad I got this plant.
