I love this bagel slicer! Cutting a bagel by hand is scary and messy, so I wanted a way to slice them safely. I also wanted a slicer that was wide enough to hold a large, thick bagel. I'm so glad I chose this slicer. It's well made, sturdy, and easy to clean because it's stainless steel (instead of wood). The slicer holds the bagel in place while I use my long serrated breadknife to cut through it. The two sides come out evenly sliced. It's great!!

It holds the bagel as it is intended to do. Depending on the length of your knife, I found it easier to rotate the bagel and cut from one side. A longer knife would do better, but for one bagel I don't want to dirty a longer knife. We are on a bagel kick right now, with our favorites being Einsten. So they're pretty large bagels, but they fit well. Being steel, it's easy to clean.

A full size bagel will fit in the holder, but a couple things are troubling.The metal of the holder is thin. It bends easily. Also, the opening slot for you knife is much bigger than I expected. Don't get me wrong, this is a totally functional piece, but it could be better IMO.It is stainless steel and in washes up well by hand. The listing claims dishwasher safe, but I have seen very bad things from stainless in a dishwaher. Not sure I trust that just yet.Fair price but I have my hesitance about this one.

This is a well made product but I found it easier to do it the old-fasion way. However, I think with a different knife I might have gotten better results. My bagels were thick and the topping came off when pushed in.

Last week I bought some Bagels from the bakery and brought them home. I had forgotten how difficult and dangerous cutting the bagels in half turns was. Amazon to the rescue. Being a Prime member I waited a couple of days and the bagel holder I ordered arrived. My bakery bagels (which are fairly good sized bagels) fit perfectly in the holder. I'm very happy with holder. I would however, strongly suggest that the word "adjustable" be removed from the title of the bagel holder in the product description. The holder is "flexible" not adjustable. Just be aware it handles standard size bakery bagels perfectly.

I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I ordered this all-stainless steel slicing guide! Before ordering this I kept looking at the pictures and thought that I must not be understanding something since the product title and the description said that this was adjustable. When it arrived I just kept looking at it and thinking "Well, they sure did scam me!" Please don't misunderstand me, the stainless steel is thick and very nice quality, but that is actually some of the problem. This is not thick enough to fit a regular bagel taken off the shelves of a big box store. Maybe if this wasn't an everything bagel, I could have forced it inside and squished it in multiple ways in the process. I finally managed to force this open enough to fit my big box store bagel, which took quite a bit of force, I wanted to see if I could get it back to the shape when it arrived, and it's not possible. Another note, the sound this makes if your knife happens to touch the sides or when you make it to the bottom is like nails on a chalkboard. Then getting your bagel back out of this isn't fun either! It does help you slice your bagel evenly. As a note, look at all of the product pictures, not a single bagel is shown, but only donuts. I had a wooden one and I decided to get this bagel slicer because it is stainless steel. I can easily wash it or put it in the dishwasher and I don't have to worry about nicks or wood chips like I would with a wooden one. It has little bars to keep the bagel from slipping when cutting. Note that you have to manually adjust the bar to fit your bagel size and then you will cut the bagel easily. Of course you can leave the bar on and you will still be able to cut the bagel without any problems. Recommended Buy
