 activated charcoal powder for poisonings

Charcoal powder efficacy for pets relies on the timing and toxin type ingested. Vet consultation for proper dosage is key. Use within an hour of ingestion to cut absorption by 75%.

Dosage: 1 teaspoon (5g) per 15 pounds of pet weight, 2-3 times daily until recovery. If symptoms persist, contact your vet. Handle carefully; the powder is fine and spreads easily.

I believe the instructions are lacking important information. Specifically, what are the recommended time intervals for administering each syringe? The manual provides the amount in grams but does not specify how often it should be given. There are many aspects of the manual that could be improved. As for the charcoal itself, it works fine—it's just charcoal, so there's not much to it.

kitty had abrasion on his tummy....couldn't get him to vet so put a bit of dry charcoal on the spot. he didn't like that a bit...........later put a tiny bit more dry charcoal powder on site and the next day, site healed over. unbelievable...........but saw it happen. gotta get the book read. talked with a lady at organic garden center, she said she keeps the activated charcoal on hand at all times, gives it to her "little ones" any time they eat a toxic leaf or other disagreeable thing. and they are all very healthy. investigate it. good for humans and nonhumans...........

I give this to my dog when she has an gi distress. It works great. It can also be used if my dog ever gets into any poison. Fortunately so far so good.

This product clearly has more than one use! It is great to keep around your household if ever an animal did get into something they should not get into! But this product also helps with gut issues! The very first time I use this on my male dog for his tummy issues I cannot tell you how well this worked for him! I would absolutely purchase this again and I highly recommend!

Our dog has terrible luck. Ingesting things, skunk, porcupine, CCL, animal trap on his foot you name it. I ordered these for his doggy first aid kit and actually had to use it the other day to get ahead of any ill effects from eating a whole loaf of garlic bread. It was easy to use, and he actually took it well as it was essentially tasteless and I could squirt it between his clenched teeth. Highly recommend for any ingestion prevention!

I used the liquid charcoal when my dog had a reaction to Medicine and I could not reach my vet. My vet agreed it was probably a good idea and may have saved her life from the bad side effect of the medication.
