How to Use

Can be used after connecting with the microscope.

In order to facilitate observation, recommended to start observation at low magnification, more difficult to adjust at high magnification than at low magnification. According to the characteristics of the observed specimen, not all slices are suitable for observation under high magnification.

60X achromatic objective lens was ordered on 4/19/2023 and received on 4/26/2023 - VERY prompt service. Has excellent optics for an achromatic lens (195mm optical bench length is longer than the original 185mm optical bench length objectives on the microscope, so replaced the 4X & 10X lenses with new 195mm optical bench length 4X & 20X objectives to obtain near parfocal performance for the refurbished student microscope. The 60X lens replaced a damaged 100X oil immersion lens and does so nicely with less risk of future damage by eliminating the oil immersion aspect.

I am not a professional biologist. But I have spent years in a lab looking at slides.I bought this for my farm’s “starter” microscope that came with a 40x objective maximum to increase the clarity of magnification without adding more eye piece compounding pieces.PROS:* It came in a nice sturdy container that can be used for storage .* It screwed right into the socket of my microscope.* It seemed fairly clear and clean without annoying pieces of dust or hair that can cause large artifacts.* It seemed fairly easy to focus in on my microscope slide subject.* Feels like a nicer ,sturdier attachment than what came with my “hobbiest” microscope kit.* It was shipped quickly and well packaged.CONS:* There seemed to be a sweet spot in the viewing area that looker sharp in part of the subject and than would need refocussing to see the outer edges in the same clarity vs being able to see everything in the eyepiece all at the same time with the same clarity. So I would need to adjust the microscope focus to see different parts of the subject. I did not clean the attachment before using , just screwed it on to my microscope and started using it so that should be considered for what i saw.I took a picture with my iphone looking through the 10x eyepiece of the microscope using the 10x objective that came with the microscope and than one using the same 10x eyepiece using this 60x objective . So you can see that it does magnify like what you would hope for .I would buy this again . Does what I need it to do for horse fecal counts and fish slide scrapes for parasites and bacteria.
