Design, Assemble, and Dissemble
Eccentric Design, ISO 15488:2003(E)
The inside of the ER collet nut is intentionally designed like off-centering to help mount the ER collet much easier. It is in accordance with the requirements listed in ISO 15488:2003(E). If it is made symmetrical, the ER collet with the diameter larger than the inside size of the collet nut cannot be installed.
Assemble
Insert the ER collet into the nut at an angle. Lock it onto the eccentric groove of the collet nut and push it in. (Insert the cutter right after the step, before connect it to the holder/chuck/arbor.)
Inspection
Inspect the RPM of the ER collet, ER collet nut, ER collet holder/chuck/arbor, etc.
Runout Tolerance: 0.0004"
Dissemble
Take out the tool bit, press the end of the ER collet until the collet off the position. Push it out of the nut. (after take out the nut out of the holder.)

Very pleased with the 23 Pc Er40 Collet Set. As with everything I've purchased from Accusize, the machining and finish is first class. The 8 or so collets that I've used so far have all been accurate, using them in both a mill and a lathe.

Super fast delivery. On visual inspection, these collets look pretty good. No burrs or rough edges to be seen. They're coated with something like cosmoline, so you’ll need to clean them up with WD40. I haven’t checked their concentricity yet, so I can’t speak to that or their repeatability. I have a Set-Tru style ER40 Collet Chuck coming for my lathe, so I’ll be able to do some testing then. The collets come in a very nice case which is very handy if you don’t use a collet rack. Note: I’d give them a 5 star, but not without doing some testing first.

I searched for a ER40 collet metric set that had good specs. Sets at twice the price would not state the accuracy, but this set sold by Accusize did state the specs. Upon arrival I checked each for issues. The company, especially Allen, was very responsive to my questions and I could not be happier. The collets all snap into the nut as they are supposed to, and all measure as they should measure. I believe you will be happy with your purchase. I know I am happy with mine.

My product was generic and NOT the Accusize brand.No Accusize branding was to be found on the box or the collets like in the product pictures. I ordered the combo set with the standard size set also and the standard size set was Accusize and was marked correctly with Accusize stickers and card. The metric collet case also was very badly damaged but the cardboard box it was shipped in was fine so it was damaged before shipment. I will be returning them for the correct product or a refund.

This is a good set and money well spent. I looked around for a fairly priced product and this was the best I could find. I almost didn’t purchase anything but I use these on occasion and needed them for those just in case projects.
