This shelf was perfect for my needs. I use a shelf to mount two Edirol UA-101 sound cards in a rack. The sides of the shelf fit perfectly and do not allow the sound cards to move. That is, no additional fastening is required.

AC Infinity makes some of the beefiest rack mounted shelves on the market and this one is no exception. Nice thick material makes it very sturdy. Another great product from AC Infinity.

This is my third purchase of this shelf, along with other variants (deeper versions). Very well made, probably totally overkill for just holding up some desktop switches, but it's one of those things you buy once and they never have to worry about re-purposing it. I actually like the small front lip for things like small slim switches and gateways: it allows you to pull them forward and easily align them with the front. In addition removing ethernet cables one-handed, you can use the lip to sort of hold the jack back. In addition if you pull the device forward and up/over the front lip, usually one-handed plug-ins. All in all these are becoming my go-to for general purpose shelves in wall mounts racks.

This shelf is so sturdy, it's actually thicker steel than the rack I installed it in. About 2x thicker steel that most of my other rack shelves too. This isn't one of those cheaply stamped sheet metal rack shelves that you can usually buy in bulk. Zero flex whatsoever.The finish on this shelf was perfect, there were no places with chipped paint or bent corners. Yes, it's a bit expensive for a single 6" shelf, but it's definitely way higher quality than other rack shelves I've used. You sometimes pay a bit of a premium for A/C Infinity's rack products, but they're worth the money.5 stars. I'll be buying more of these as my go-to for mounting non-rack equipment in the future.

Seems super sturdy. I'm using this shelf for a half space rack unit. The vents were just a little too small to pass a rack screw through and into the mount on the bottom of the unit, but I was able to drill through very very easily. It took me longer to plug in the drill, than to actually run it. If I could make any improvements on the unit, I'd say make the vents a little wider though i suppose that would reduce from the 40lb weight capacity (which means nothing to me, since I have it sandwiched between 2 other units and it's holding something that weighs 1lbs at most). The build quality seems top notch overall, and at a lower price than Raxxess charges you really can't go wrong. For the record, I needed vents because the idiots who designed the unit below it made the cooling fan face up from the top and they recommend at least 1 inch of clearance).

Shelf is listed in the specs as one pound in weight. Actual weight outside of packing box is 2.5 pounds. This is important if you are packing like in my case for weight. Wish sellers would pay more attention to details like this. Other than that it's a heavy duty well made shelf. Mine was not square on one side but I can live with that.

Ordered some of these for my home network lab. I have some other brand shelving already in place but the AC Infinity shelves blow them away in terms of quality, fit, and finish. I love the vents on them as I have a good handful of equipment that doesn't have 19" rack mount capability and has to lay on the shelf itself. The options of terms of size and depth was also a huge plus. Looking to buy more again soon. Excellent product.
