I have been eyeing these for months and can only say I wished I had gotten one sooner. It really does work! The master is the coldest room in the winter and I have been sleeping with an electric heater and a quilt over my head. This fit perfectly and was easy for me to install. I had to use the screws from my original vent cover as the ones provided were too short. My house is over 60 years old.It took me a bit to figure the programming; I didn’t want the fan running nonstop. The directions could be improved. Anyway, you have to set your fan speed first - and you need to set it to zero when “off” - or the fan will continue to run when you use the automatic mode. Auto is what you use to set it to turn on when your heater is running. The internal temperature sensor is way off; I tried to calibrate it but decided it was necessary - so long as you set the auto on temp to turn on 5 degrees above what it senses when the heater is off it will work fine.Anyway, the room is so much more comfortable now. I don’t need to run the electric radiant heater nonstop. I do turn the auto off when not in the room as I noticed when I left it on the office room was cooler during the day when working in it.The remote works great! And mine does allow me to program from it.

This vent fan definitely cools the room that it’s in, which I’m happy about. The cons are that it’s overall confusing to set up & use but fine once you figure it out. The cable is very long & sticks up so it looks a bit messy. It’s quiet on lower settings but not the higher ones. It’s fine for an office but I wouldn’t use it in a bedroom as it does need to be set quite high to get a good result.

I was skeptical trying this but it was the cheapest solution. I have very few vents upstairs with no air returns. One vent is split between rooms and also had very low air flow. Because of this, the room would always be 5-7 degrees hotter than my downstairs depending on the weather. It was even worse at night when we had the door shut. My vents are larger than the biggest size of this device, so I just unscrewed the fan from the face plate and attached it to my current face plate. Instantly I noticed a difference, the air was flowing so fast. Now the room is able to get within 1-2 degrees of my downstairs. Highly recommended!

I gave this thing a 4 cause i think its a good and interesting product. Its a little pricey for the feature set ( IMO ), but things are more expensive in todays world, so dont let that stop you.First read the instructions on this before install. Also read the comments. The temp gauge turns the fan on depending on your temp settings. When the duct temp hits it, it turns on, when the duct temp goes beyond it in the wrong direction, it turns off. Pretty simple, its just reverse of how you know AC to work.I did install this upside down( instruction say not to do that for safety reasons ), no kids, so i dont care. I also made sure to secure it a little better by moving the existing screws an inch for new holes. The cord is long enough to reach from the ceiling to the outlet and still have some slack left ( 8 foot ceilings ).I installed this cause i have 3 computers in one room and it gets a little toasty, like 5-10 degrees above the rest of the house. After install, with my ceiling fan on medium, it certainly does cool the room down 2-4 degrees. Its not a miracle worker though and didnt expect a miracle( not having to mess with the house AC ). I did also need to drop the house ac 1 degree to get it working to the point i was comfortable. Before the setup with this unit, i had a fan in the hallway blowing cool air in. it worked mostly but it was much louder ( yea i could have bought a quieter fan, but it was blocking the hallway too ). I also kept the ceiling fan on max, so no loose papers allowed in the room ( not super great ). So much better with this thing.Like i said above, its not perfect, but its wayyyy cheaper than buying and operating a room AC unit. The bonus for me is that in the winter, the ducts get cold, so while the house holds the heat in and the heat doesnt kick on much, the room is constantly cooled cause the ducts drop below the selected temp and it kicks on, blowing cold attic duct air into the room. I hadnt even considered that would happen, so a happy find! It also doesnt kick on when the heat is on, so it kinda blocks the vent a bit, keeping hot air from easily flowing into the room. On hot days ( 90+ ) outside, the room does get to 79, so its still noticeably above my house temp, but not unbearably so. I replace my main AC unit last year, so perhaps we will see how this summer goes.

Easy to install. Fairly long cord. It's very quiet but if you put it on the fan setting the higher you go the louder it is; though still pretty quiet. Fan setting from 1-10. Definitely worth the money! Its in farenheit not celcius. Settings: degrees, a/c, heating, fan. Very helpful!

We actually use this in our church pantry room to move the hot air from the refrigerators out to the fellowship hall area. Temperature in the room is now good and it's so quiet that nobody even noticed when this went in!

I purchased this booster fan to bring additional heat to a bedroom in the northwest corner of my house. The bedroom is quite cool in the evening. The register fan worked very well but keep reading to get the full story. Installation of the fan was extremely simple. I removed the old register cover and this unit fit exactly into the space, with the circulation fans, sticking deeper into the wall cavity. My electrical outlet unfortunately was on the left side of the unit, about 3 inches away, so I had to wrap it around the register with the additional cord management piece they provide. The register is held in place with two screws. One screw went in perfectly using the old screw hole, the other screw hole didn’t match up so I had to drill it out, which only took a minute. Once the unit was mounted on the wall, I plugged it in. There are 3 settings you need to adjust based on your personal preference and the room temperature: Fan speed, activation temperature for heating and activation temperature for cooling. Remember you are not setting the desired temperature of the room.Since this room is usually a bit chilly, I did not want the fan to start blowing cold air thinking it was in air conditioning mode. So, I lowered the temperature of the air conditioning activation to 60 degrees. I wanted the fan to start as soon as hot air is blowing from the furnace, so I lowered the heating activation to 76 degrees. I turned up the furnace and watch the temperature climb on the unit and once it got to 76 degrees the fan start working and it was pulling more heat into the room.I might have to adjust the hot and cold activation temperatures in the summer when the room is a bit warm, so it is not blowing warm air if the room is 76 degrees or above and instead just comes on when the air conditioning has activated.I did increase the fan to speed 7 over the next couple of nights, so it was providing quite a bit of heat, but not so noisy as to be a bother when you are sleeping. Overall, it has helped tremendously with getting a more comfortable temperature for the room. I feel it was a good investment. The good: Unit works just as advertised, very flexible for setting activation temperatures and fan speeds. Easy to install. Seems like it will be very durable. The bad: It doesn’t turn off when it is activated until the temperature sensor is above or below what you have specified, no matter what the temperature of the room becomes. And the big thing is of course, it does not help at all, when the furnace/air conditioner are not running. So there are times when the room is still a bit cool, because the rest of the house is at the desired temperature for the thermostat and the furnace is not running. What I wish: I wish they would partner with EcoBee thermostats and could activate the register fans when the furnace fan is running. Also, they could be a remote temperature sensor for the thermostat.
