Overview

A quiet cooling fan system designed to be placed on top of AV components such as receivers, routers, game consoles, and AV cabinet components. Maintaining an optimal temperature for components prevents overheating, ensures constant performance, and extends their lifespan. The controller on the front of the cooling system features a smart thermostat trigger and fan speed control. The steel enclosure houses two dual-ball bearing blowers that pull heat out of the component and exhaust out the rear. The dual ball bearings also allow this fan system to be mounted horizontally or vertically. Its low-profile design enables the unit to fit in tight spaces. Includes corded power adapter to plug the fan system through an outlet.

Intelligent Programming

There are three programming settings available which includes two temperature trigger modes. The fans can also be set to run continuously or be turned off. Four fan speeds are available for each active mode and will determine the speed at which the fans run when they are triggered. This ensures optimal airflow and noise levels for your application.

Design and Construction

Each system features dual-ball bearing fans rated at 67,000 hours and are certified by CE and RoHS. Fans contain a PWM-controlled motor used to minimize noise during speed variations and are suspended in mid-air with silicone mounts to absorb vibrations. A low-profile design allows the unit to fit in applications with a limited height clearance. Aluminum and steel construction enables additional components up to 10 pounds to be stacked on top.

I needed something to cool off 3 power amps that I put in a cabinet. I noticed how hot the amps were getting and could smell the electronics heating up when I opened the cabinet door. Not good. I saw this fan on Amazon and it is exactly what I needed. I couldn't afford the larger T models but luckily AC Infinity makes the S7, very affordable and perfect for my needs. I placed the fan on top of the 3rd Amp in the cabinet and within a few minutes the heat had dissipated and the amps were cool as a cucumber. I set it to automatic and when the temp hits 88 degrees the fan kicks in and cools everything off. It is only an inch and a half tall and fits right on top on the 3rd Amp. It plugs into a normal wall outlet. Decent quality and I hope I get a few years out of it. It has 4 speeds, the 4th and highest speed is a little noisy so I set it to the 3rd speed which I cannot hear when watching TV. As the Amps cool off this fan will drop to the lower speeds as the temperature lowers in increments of 2 degrees. The 1st and 2nd speeds are silent. If your electronics are heating up you should definitely consider getting an S7.

I bought this for a receiver that runs a bit hot when pushed and it works very well at keeping the temps down.Noise is not really noticeable when amp and music is on. Build quality is good with multiple settings for fan speed and auto on/ off based on temps. The build quality is good and it’s a fairly thin unit that fits well in limited space.Great value for the price and I will be getting another for my other receivers throughout the house.

I use this with my Denon X4700H, which runs very hot. It is configured in full auto mode, which means auto turn-on and auto fan speed. It does come on when video sources play, it does seem to regulate its fan speed, and it is quiet enough. However, it is not as quiet as the best 120mm PC fans.BUT, there is a ~3/8" air gap all around underneath, which allows it to pull air through that gap instead of through the receiver's air vents, which decreases efficiency dramatically. Automobile fans have shrouds that touch the radiator to prevent precisely this scenario. This device needs such a shroud design to be most effective.Once the return period expires, I will remove the feet and use weatherstripping tape around the perimeter to duplicate fan shroud functionality.UPDATE 4/7/2023My unit no longer runs on low speed, and the fans have become loud enough to hear during quiet passages. I may replace the fans with Noctua or just abandon the device and go back to silent passive cooling.

Modern home receivers are still using a terrible method of amplification. Each channel is amplified, regardless of whether or not you are using it.So, if you've purchased that "11.2" AVR with all the watts, they are hot, and amped, even if you only actually have 2 speakers plugged in. What does this mean?LOADS of wasted power, which also means HEATYet, for whatever reason, AVR manufacturers also don't bother to (generally) actively cool. I had chosen to solve this by buying a cheap $20 desk fan and just pointing it at my AVR, but that fan died.So I took to amazon to see if anyone else had a more elegant solution. This is what I found, and it is exactly what I was looking for. The concept is simple, it's just some PC cooling fans in a plastic box with a fan controller and a simple LED. But it's priced fairly, it's quiet, and the features you don't need that are included with this are very nice.(I turned off the ambient LED lights, for example, using a simple button press)I had briefly considered buying PC fans and putting them in a box or something, but when I saw this, and saw the price, I did not hesitate to pull the trigger. My *ONLY* note that isn't 100% positive is that the images were a bit misleading about the size. If I had read the details, it wouldn't have been a shock, but I bought it at first sight, and was expecting it to roughly match the dimensions of my receiver. This unit is basically just two PC fans in size, so it doesn't cover the entire (or even most) of the top of my unit. However I set this to 50% fan speed, and could not hear it over ambient room noise, and when I put my hands on my AVR after about 30 seconds, it was already cool to the touch. PERFECT

Although this is only the 12” wide model, with only 2 fans & no electronic controls (just a preprogrammed temperature cycle), I decided to get this model as it was almost 50% off ($66, down from $120). My main surround sound amp is 17” wide (standard size) & puts out a lot of heat. Since getting this fan & running it on it’s smart setting (both LEDs lit), my amp now runs cold to touch! It’s amazing how much heat is dispersed. Plus, the fan doesn’t even need to run continuously. It cycles on & off as needed, mainly on the low setting. On hotter days, it might bump the fan up to the medium setting, before dropping back to low then cycling off. Very quiet: I don’t hear the fan at all. I liked this model so much, I bought 3 more at the discounted price, for my other surround sound amps. The amp in my bedroom always ran very hot, but now it’s also cold to touch, because it’ll cycle all the way up to medium-high (before cycling down & off). So far this fan has never needed to go to the highest fan setting. It’s a very well made unit with quality parts & feel. I’m sure it would look better if I had the larger 17” wide, 3 fan model, but those are currently over $200 each. For the amount of hot air this 12” wide fan moves away, it’s not necessary to buy the bigger model (aside from the standardized look to match the amp’s width). So glad I got this as long term heat will eventually wear out your modern day amp (I’ve gone through a few over the past 25 years compared to my 80s Pioneer amp that’s still working! - I’ve bought a few high-end Yamaha & Onkyo amps over the years). I’ve had these fans now for over 3 months & even with daily usage (my one amp is on for around 12 hours/day) they are all still working great. It’s not often that I’m this impressed with a modern product. I’d give it 6-stars if I could! I’ve since purchased a bunch of AC Infinity fans & controllers for my audio amp rack. These products are also of high quality & work very well.

If you are looking for a cooling solution for your audio equipment, this is the product to get. The product looks like those in the picture, so no surprises it is solidly built fan. The product is well packaged and arrived in great condition. I purchased two of the top venting (versus side) to place on a pair of hot solid state Class A mono-block amplifiers sitting on the floor. I had just received back one of the amps having been repaired for likely overheating so a solution was needed to augment this amps passive cooling in my set-up conditions. The fan has adjustments for fan speed and cooling profiles, i.e. when to turn of / off. I set mine to run the fan at the lowest speed, and auto turn when it gets hot and off when it gets to the set temperature. Note the temps are not adjustable, but configured for optimal performance. I sat down for a listening session while keeping an eye on the cooling modules. The fans work like a champ, exactly what I was missing. The amps never reached temps that would have caused protection mode to kick-in. Fan switching on/off is whisper quite and when "ON" the fans in the low setting are VERY quiet, i.e. I sit 8 feet away can barely here them when the room is quiet, certainly 2-3 times less audible than my projector fan! The fans did their thing switching ON/Off ass needed to pull heat from the AMPSI will be purchasing another of these to use with my AVR which could be used to make toast. I think it has already cooked the capacitors in the past 6 years because of the heat this thing has generated, so I want to have a proper cooling solution ready when this AVR is replaced with a pre-amp processor.
