Crafted in 14 gauge steel, all of our bucklers have rolled edges and come in three sizes to meet individual needs. This leather-covered version combines functionality and aesthetics. The buckler I received is NOT the one in the product photo, specifically as it's ribbed and missing the riveted bosses on the surface. It appears to be the GDFB model AB0122 (see my own attached pic). As the difference in price is only about $1, this wasn't a big deal, especially as what I received is indeed very solid, with a surprisingly comfortable rounded metal grip attached by a pair of heavy rivets. The edge is cleanly rolled over, and the buckler seems like it would have no trouble deflecting light to medium weight blades. The small diameter makes it easy to carry on the belt but it must be held extended well in front of you for best protection. Despite the "surprise" out of the package, I'm pretty satisfied with the quality.
