I bought these to clean contacts on integrated circuit boards. The traditional ones with cotton tips (like Q-tips) leave lint on the boards which isn't really good. So I though foam pads swabs would be better. Well, not these. The foam pads are so thin they can barely hold any liquid and they don't stay on the stick and keep falling off. They are basically useless. Mine went directly to the garbage bin.

For those wanting the non-metric dimensions, these swabs are 2 3/4 inches long and the tip is about 1/8 inch wide. I am currently using them to clean grease and powder residue from the slide rails and locking recesses of handguns. They get into small areas, and the foam tip does not shed material like fiber tip swabs. The shaft is firm, but can be bent 180 degrees without breaking. You can make a 90-degree swab for places which are difficult to access. These won’t replace cheaper swabs for general purpose cleaning, but are great for lint-free cleaning in small spaces.

AAwipes Double Round Head Foam Swabs are great for a variety of uses where cotton swabs can be swapped. The benefit of the foam material is the foam tip is lint free and consistently sized over traditional cotton swabs with natural fibers that are wound. There is no fiber to fall off or get trapped into small crevices. For any liquids, as cleaning solutions, lubricants or pigments a consistent amount is absorb and doesn't vary by the tightness of the wound fiber. The liquid can also be applied in a smoother consistent way, especially with touch up paint on a car.The double tip is good for applying on one end and removing excess on the opposite end. Or it provides double the capacity than a single tip swab. I use them for applying solvents and lubricants to metal parts.

For all your extra-small cleaning jobs, these are a big improvement over the usual q-tips or cotton swabs. The narrow heads fit easily into tight spots, and they don't leave behind any new lint or fibers. The foam stands up to gentle scrubbing on non-abrasive surfaces, and work well with IPA as a cleaner/solvent.I like the dual-ended design, as I typically make a couple passes during cleaning tasks, and now I can get that done using one swab instead of two. The handles are strong but made of plastic, so the reduced waste is a good thing here.Overall, these are high-quality swabs, a little pricey perhaps, but worthwhile when you need a precision cleaning tool that doesn't produce any of its own dust/lint/residue. I've been using them for PCB micro-soldering and have been very happy with the results.

These do work better than a q-tip - more durable and you can get more dirt off without having to use several q-tips - BUT! They are expensive for how many you get. I would only get these if you have some special equipment that needs cleaning that you don’t want to risk getting a cotton swab bit stuck on it.

I like grabbing lint-free swabs to use for small electronics that I solder. Using non-lint swabs allows me to get the same cleaning utility as a normal cotton swab, without worrying about the cotton getting frayed everywhere and sticking to components, making another mess that requires a different method to clean. I do feel that the price is a little high however, but other than that, these are great!

Although they seem to be chemically resistant they are prone to fail and can come off inside the mechanism being cleaned. For those items having burrs or a rough surface the material is quite likely to snag and tear. Rather pricey for the number of pieces and overall quality.

Controller drift is the bane of a PS5 controller. You can wait a couple weeks for them to repair it if you are still under warranty, or you can do it yourself in an hour. Search youtube for videos about how to take it apart. When you get to the 'clean the wiper disk' part, these are what you want to use. Dip the end in 90% alcohol (not the usual 70%) and wipe the black carbon build up off with these. These narrow foam heads work so much better than a cotton swab. They're only about 1/8 inch wide so they're easier to get into the potentiometer and they don't leave little q-tip fuzzies in where you clean.Note that these are NOT for cleaning ears, noses or other body parts. They are for cleaning electronics.
