These racks are of excellent quality. The fit and finish is very good. No issues mounting them.AA Racks has outstanding customer service. They were very helpful in helping me confirm which model would be best for my truck and bed rail design. When they arrived, one upright had a small dent. I sent an email and they called me the same day to confirm which upright it was. They sent me a replacement immediately. I had Tue new one in a few days.Super happy with these racks. Very sturdy. They are perfect for carrying our two fishing kayaks.I went with the e-trailer 22” foam blocks to put underneath the kayaks. Works perfectly and holds them very securely.I Would absolutely buy again from this company.Great value and solid quality racks.

It's lightweight, strong, aluminum with stainless steel nuts & bolts, t-slots on the crossbars and uprights, easy to assemble and install and reasonably priced.. There's a lot to like. The crossbar end caps aren't the best... They're plastic, making the d-rings dubious at best. You have to take them off to access the t-slots, and they're held on by a tiny screw (not bolt) that will strip out the plastic they screw into with any repeated removals. T-slot openings should be molded into the plastic caps, omit the tie down loops on them and just throw in a few t-slot anchor points. The most egregious fault with this rack is that the crossbars are not one continuous piece and the joining pieces block the t-slots, making the middle of the crossbar unusable for t-slot accessories like the load stops or tie-down points/rack mounted boxes, etc. It also means you have to take the caps off both ends to add/remove t-slot hardware instead of being able to slide it all in from one side. The joining pieces are also zinc plated steel, so they stand out like a sore thumb and will not be as corrosion resistant as the rest of the aluminum and stainless steel parts. This would be a 5 star review with solid crossbars.I'd pay $100 on top of the cost of this rack for a pack of two solid crossbars and heavy duty end caps that didn't have to be removed to use the T slots. Bonus points for brackets to mount the segmented crossbars horizontally between the uprights for an overlanding look.Minor complaint... The bed rail clamps are painted gloss black instead of the textured matte black on the main rack components.

I bought the AA Model APX25 Aluminum ladder rack to mount to the top rail of my 5' x 10' aluminum utility trailer specifically so I could haul kayaks on top and my ATV and camping gear underneath. I purchased this ladder rack along with the AA KX325 J-bar set (includes 4 j-bars to accommodate 2 kayaks). My order was delayed 1 day during shipping due to FEDEX and the box was in rough shape when it arrived. I blame the carrier on that. There were 2 small dings in the cross bar, but I did think it was worth me packaging back up to swap out for that. The racks are powder coated - I chose the silver color to match my trailer - and they look very sharp. I actually had neighbors complimenting them while I was in the driveway installing them. The hardware is all packaged nicely and the directions are very easy to follow. I did the install myself and took my time...all-in-all I would say it took me about 2 hours of actual work time. All the parts fit well together and I didn't have to manipulate anything to work. They come with aluminum clamps that work perfectly for a truck bed mount.Where I ran into a problem was that I was trying to install this on my utility trailer which has a 1 1/2" aluminum top rail, so the included clamps were too small for how I was trying to use them. I contacted the company and asked for advice and to see if they carried any larger clamps. I got a quick response via email which included suggestions from their technicians on how to install. I chose to purchase larger clamps from a local truck supplier at a cost of $6.50 each and they work amazingly for my application. One other note is that since I bought the j-bars as a separate item instead of purchasing the bundle that includes a rack and j-bars together, my j-bars didn't have the correct mounting bracket for the wide bars of the APX25 rack. I called customer service and they quickly identified the correct brackets and got them shipped out same day to me at no extra cost. I was very, very pleased with the customer service. They answered the phone quickly, and remedied my problem quickly. What more can you ask for from a customer service center?!I like everything about this purchase and I'm very pleased with how they look installed. They are very sturdy and the adjustable tie downs are a nice addition, especially for someone looking to tie down ladders or lumber or even kayaks/canoes without a j-bar. I would highly recommend the AA Racks APX25 Aluminum Ladder Rack if you are in the market. You can't go wrong with this purchase.Note: in the pics I provided, my 2 kayaks are just sitting on top so I could get an idea of length for the install. These are wider fishing kayaks and there is still plenty of room. If I had not purchased the j-bars, I would probably buy some of foam padding that slides over the crossbars and just carry them like this. I mounted d-rings to the deck of my trailer and I use Rhino soft loops on my carry handles to connect ratchet straps to tie down.
