This is a heavy metal door bell with a retro classic style that would look good in many types of house styles. It was easy to install, just connect 2 wires and then screw it to the wall. The push button action is robust, you won't mistake whether you pushed the button or not and the action is longer than the cheap plastic ones you find everywhere. As its antique brass and not bright brass there is low maintenance as it won't patina and start to look poorly. Its low profile is nice, easily fits on the wall and doesn't stick out much. I am glad I purchased this.

This switch is far more attractive than the rectangular plastic switches it replaced, and at the same time, far more durably constructed, while costing only a few bucks more! Really a great deal. I've had mine installed for about a month now as garage door buttons, and am super happy with them. Thrilled, really.Just FYI, the switch gets three demerits from me, that are not enough to diminish its overall five-star rating in my view, but still worth noting:(1) The mounting screws provided with the switch seem of very low quality. I had one break on me during installation, and another almost break, at which point I used some other screws I had on hand. Do not use the supplied screws. Seems like they could include higher quality screws with only very marginal cost increase. The cheap screws unnecessarily risk causing an outsized disappointment in the product.(2) As it says in the advertisement, the switch components project from the rear of the unit by 3/4". So it will take some extra effort to mount these. In my case, this resulted in a much more attractive installation than I would have had otherwise, so I am not the least disappointed. I found an old piece of wood to use as a stand-off base, which did double-duty by covering up the scars from the original switch installation. Maybe the manufacturer should offer a stained wooden stand-off as an add-on option, sparing the purchaser from having to construct the same, which not all purchasers could readily do.(3) I think the buttons are kind of hard to depress (though my wife thinks they're just fine) which when combined with the spherical button shape, seems not ideally ergonomic. Very robust though; I get no sense these switches will ever stop rebounding from a press, unlike the cheapo plastic switches they replaced.

This beautiful doorbell is well constructed and made from solid metal. It is very sturdy and seems made to last a very long time. The intricate detail is laced with swirls and dots in a lovely Victorian style, and the scalloped edges add a very elegant accent. The push button has a nice shape and works quite well. The item itself is sightly smaller than I expected, but still a very nice size to have a noticeable presence in the entry. The beautiful detail in the design makes for a lovely way to draw proper attention in the entry. I chose to write a review because the quality and detail of this item were exactly what I was hoping for. Personally, I think it would be beneficial for this item to be offered in a bronze option. I was looking for a bronze colored doorbell to match my door and hardware, but really liked the design of this doorbell and decided to take a chance because the price was so very reasonable (only $14 at the time of purchase). It came coated in a rich silky dark black color that had a slight shine to it, but I decided to paint it bronze and had wonderful results! I used a dark brown Rust-Oleum spray paint and coated it once in each direction (left to right and then right to left) with a light solid spray. (I did not use multiple passes because I did not want the button to become sticky with paint or the smaller intricacies of the metalwork to fill up with paint). It easily coated smoothly with minimal spray due to the smooth finish of the original black finish. I allowed it to dry for a few short minutes and then immediately ran it under piping hot water and scrubbed it with a hard bristle scrub brush, which slowly removed some of the brown from the highlighted areas, showing the black finish underneath. It only took a minute or two of scrubbing gently to achieve the antiqued look I desired. When I felt there was just enough black showing through in the highlighted areas, I let it dry and then clear coated it once lightly to seal the color. After drying, the push button still works perfectly. I am so pleased with the results! I really love the bronze color with this dainty design because it accents my hardware and presents a vintage cast iron appearance. The bronze effect turned out just beautifully, accentuating the vintage old world feel of this design. The photo I included is of the bronze painted doorbell. If you have black hardware and want a classic look, this black doorbell may be a wonderful option also. Regardless of color, this doorbell is a well made, quality crafted item in a lovely vintage design that will add an elegant accent to any entry doorway.

Good solid bell push but the antique brass is much darker in reality than the image on the website. I used some wire wool to lighten up the word “Press” and the design as they were difficult to see. I think it looks better- see photo.
