There were so many choices, I went with this one. Came quickly and install was easy (came with tools) except for removing the old battery which is stuck on with two face tape. Just have to take your time, pry it slowly. You lift a little and wait for the glue to separate, then move a little and repeat. I charged to full then drained to 5%, I did this 3 times per the instructions. The battery lasts for hours, no issues so far. Picture is the new installed and my old one all swollen up. If you Mac doesn't sit flat on the table or touch pad is wonky, don't wait to replace the battery.

I installed the battery and took me about 1 hour. It came with installation instruction. If you feel that the instruction is not clear, you can find some videos from Youtube. But in some of the videos, they overcomplicated the removing battery part. Using the inbox shovel to remove the battery is not that hard and that's what I did. The only thing to keep in mind is to make sure you know where to put back the screws. I suggested that you record yourself when you are removing the screws. In terms of the battery itself, it seems working fine. It can last 4-5 hours after a full charge. I am happy about that. I have a 9 year old Macbook. I would be very satisfied if the battery can last for 3-4 years.

The most difficult part of the installation was removing the old battery that was glued down with very strong adhesive. I used a Q-tip and acetone to remove. Otherwise, my computer is working great!

I'm a Windows guy... I've built or upgraded dozens of Windows desktops and laptops...but half of my family are Mac fanatics. So when something goes sour with one of their apples, I'm usually the one they reach out to first for help. Case in point is my mother. The battery in one of her Macbooks (a 2015 Macbook Pro) started swelling so it needed replacement. When she took it to her trusted independent Apple repair shop, they quoted her about $300-$350 to replace the battery. Needless to say, she came to me next. Most of the cost in having a shop replace a Macbook battery is the labor. Unlike most Windows laptop batteries that are usually held in place by 4-5 screws, Macbook batteries are glued into the unit...so they are a real pain to replace. And it isn't just one battery pack...its several connected packs. In this case, the battery is comprised of six packs that are wired together. So you have to gently separate each pack from the laptop without piercing it or damaging any of the surrounding laptop components. And when the battery finally comes free, you still have to completely clean up any remaining glue before you can install the new battery. All that being said, this kit turned out to be one of the most complete I've seen. It comes with a full compliment of tools and detailed instructions including step-by-step pictures. It also provides detailed instructions on steps you need to take during startup after the installation is complete. Removal and replacement went off without a hitch. And it's current price - that includes a $10 discount coupon - makes it very competitive with other similar replacement batteries.
