This is a very well built product. Assembles with ease and mounts solidly to the crossbar. I was totally confident transporting my $2k kayak down the freeway at 70+mph.The included ties are extremely helpful and useful.Beware your garage door height!!

The instructions were pretty self explanatory, assembly was easy and big shock they actually fit my 3 inch Mont Blanc Aero cross bars. A lot of J racks don’t so I’m happy with this purchase however I am confused as the pictures show 3 inch oval cross rail but the description says up to 2.5 inch so I’ll be back to update this review if the performance is not up to par with a kayak on them.Tip - don’t over tighten any screws until you have them all in place. Tightening them down as you go means the last two won’t align.This makes NO sense - does NOT come assembled and what sticker????“:Manufacturers have been assembled, you receive not separate parts, but a perfect finish.When using only need to install the rack in your car can bar.Mounting hardware design USES 2 PCS, equipped with EVA sticker in order to protect your car bar, will not scratch you.Will fit most factory or aftermarket square and flat crossbars (OEM crossbars be within 2.5" wide and 1" thick).”

Fits nicely on my crossbars and screws on easily. Held tight and was able to transport kayak without problems. A couple of the screws on bottom kept turning so don't overtighten or you night strip them. Unfortunately one got bent from a tree falling on it after hurricane Helene but I still may be able to reuse it.

These are a great value and worked well hauling my 10'6" kayak 45 miles on highways with a decent crosswind. The assembly instructions leave a little to be desired, but it's not rocket science so I figured it out. The blue cinch straps are of lesser quality, and the buckle tended to slip when cinched very tight. Still a great product and value, even if you need to purchase other tie down straps. I have Thule aero bars on my roof, and this rack fit and held the kayak down fine on them.

I received the rack this afternoon. I had no trouble assembling it. I used a 13mm extended socket instead of the wrench provided with the rack. This made it much easier to assemble. It took about 30-40 minutes to assemble, but I was not in a hurry. Instructions were easy to follow. I was somewhat concerned about the rack fitting on my Thule aero bars, but it fit just fine. After installing the rack and mounting my kayak on the rack, I drove about 30 miles to get some groceries for a kayak camping trip I'm going on in a few days. Boat was rock-solid in the rack and the rack didn't shift at all. The straps that were included with the rack were exactly the right length to hold the boat in place. There were extra washers and locknuts included in the hardware which was nice. All in all, I'm a very happy customer. Update... Returned from a kayak camping trip to the Sierras (about 200 miles each way.) Rack was rock solid all the way. Drove at the speed limit (might have exceeded the limit a few times, possibly). No problems with boat or rack. Had some nasty cross winds across the Central Valley and one of the passes through the Coast Range but the rack and boat stayed firmly in place. Still a very happy customer.

I bought these after looking at several options. They arrived quickly and I was very pleased. They are very strong and fairly easy to assemble. The directions weren't the best, but it wasn't rocket science either. They fit nicely on my Rhino Rack and I was able to put two kayaks on the roof of my truck. Another PLUS of these are the straps and tie downs. I didn't really expect them to be as useful as they were. I was able to use them to secure the kayak to the J-bars and then secure the front and the back of the kayak to the front and back of my truck, securing them perfectly. We drove over 300 miles, reaching 70+ MPH and the kayaks didn't budge and the straps stayed nice and tight. I would buy these again if I needed them.

Good rack for the price. Once put together, they work well, nice and sturdy, do their job. Straps that come with it are decent as well. Love the bow and stern straps especially. As for putting it together, it was a royal pain in the a**. Took forever. The tool they give you doesn't really work, had to go to my dad's house and use a socket wrench which made it a lot easier. Directions were pretty much useless. One tip- make sure the screw is pushed all the way down into the holes otherwise it'll just spin and not tighten. Overall, 3 stars since after it was assembled it was great!
