The British Wire Wheel 8-Sided Hex/Octagon Knock Off Wrench is designed to install and remove 8-sided Hex/Octagonal style knock-off spinner caps. The wrench is cast iron and designed with a 2-wing configuration so you can have precise control when installing or removing your spinner caps. This design makes installation/removal easy and significantly lowers the risk of causing any damage to the spinner cap’s structure and finish. If you have 8-sided Hex spinner caps, this is an essential tool to keep in the garage and trunk of your lowrider, custom build, or classic car.
COMPATIBILITY
This wrench is compatible with Dayton Wire Wheel, Luxor, and other 8-sided Hex Spinner Caps for 13-22” wire wheels. However, if ordering for an existing setup, it is advisable to check the measurements of your cap. The wrench span measures 2.8” (71 mm).
This wrench is NOT compatible with 10-sided bullet caps or hex caps for 24” wire wheels.

It worked a few times 3 to be exact but upon arrival it had a noticeable bend on one side that made it hard to make it sit straight.

Uh, not sure what to say here other than I can wack things and not damage them with this lead hammer. As intended, it is the softest material you can hit something with and not muck it up. It works for other things than just spinner wheels...just sayin'.

Post says British wire wheels, I was assuming we were getting a quality hammer. It will work, but I could have got a made in China one locally. Didn’t notice the made in china engraving in the photos posted, and package shipped from New Jersey. So, yea it will work to tighten the knockoffs on my wire wheels. And other than the fact that some wire wheels are British made, the item title is fairly misleading. For the average guy just trying to put my rims on, I could have just bought a MADE IN CHINA version locally. Product took a long time to deliver, but was one day early.

Needed to remove some wire wheels from a couple project MGs and this was the tool that worked. I tried other octagon wrenches, the thin steel type, short & long handles, but these barn cars nuts were frozen. This wrench is thick, fully grips the side faces. The lead hammer worked well too. Save your copper hammer for shows & use the lead hammer for work.
