I got this to use the SFP ports to connect my home network to my shop which is a couple of hundred yards away. It is working well in my shop, and the data speeds are acceptable. It is also very nice to know there won't be any lightning travelling back to the house on the fiber links. I wish that it was a layer 3 switch, or managed, but it is still a good bargain for what it is. Layer 2 switching is outdated, but not many situations require anything more.I like it!

I originally chose this to go in a standard rack that I'm putting together with a number of single board computers. PoE is great at reducing the clutter of cables. Unfortunately I decided to go with a smaller 10" rack for now instead and this is too wide to fit that size of a rack. I only bring that up to say it's not going to work for that purpose as I have found another location in the network where it fits more suitably.As an unmanaged switch, there's really not much to set up so installation and connectivity was quite simple. It is currently replacing a 1Gb switch that I had in place previously, adding a noticeable amount of bandwidth to that segment of the network, as well as allowing me to provide PoE to one device. I'll eventually move more of the attached devices to PoE but I'll require some additional hardware to accomplish that task. With 30W per port/120W total, it's enough to power some single board computers like I have set up.The design and build quality of the box seems good. It's a little large for a 10" rack but otherwise, it's noiseless since there's no fan and has some additional SPF ports I can utilize if I need to grow.

Does exactly what it is designed to do with no fuss or hassle, and my iperf testing shows that performance is not negatively impacted. Highly recommended if all you need is more gigabit Ethernet ports someplace.
