I was looking at picking up an inexpensive set of woodturning tools and saw these, listed at less than a similar set. Was going to but the other set, even though more expensive, but then I saw this line: "【With Box】: The wood lathe chisels comes with a box for easy storage and transport. " The other, more expensive set was portrayed with a wooden box. Well, says I, this one says it comes with a box too. So I buy it. And lo and behold, it came in a box alright - a cheap cardboard box. Sigh. Well, I'll just have to make my own box, then. At least the tools themselves appear okay, and were reasonably sharp "out of the [cardboard] box."

Ok for the price I guess. I won’t be buying them again though.

This set is bad! Won’t hold an edge, even after sharpening. The gouge tool actually bent, and I am using a small lathe…smh. The handles are comfortable though

These initially appeared to be a nice set of tools. They have a good weight and they are the right size for medium sized lathe work. The first 3-4 times I used them they did the job well and they were easy to use and felt comfortable. Shortly thereafter, I noticed the edges starting to dull, especially on the roughing tools. Unfortunately, I did not notice (until after I used several of the tools) that one of them had a defect in the contact edge of the metal. The ding/chip is large enough where the defect transfers to the wood. One thing that took me back is that these arrived in a soft cardboard box that was practically falling apart (I get the whole carbon footprint thing but the tools are simply too heavy for the gauge of cardboard they are packaged in). Also, aside from a plastic sleeve that covers each tool, there is nothing protecting them. This is likely why the one tool showed up with a defect. They really should come with a protective case to ensure they arrive as intended.
