This thing worked but came apart on the 7th spring/valve…. Lost the e-clip but it is still working. Just have to be very aware of the tool and how you’re using it. It’s fine for one motor, but buy better if you want this to be “your” lifetime valve tool.

The tool was bad quality, and did not work at all to compress springs safely or effectively. I had to modify the tool in different ways to get it to hook on to the springs without opening immediy, and had to cut and bend the arms to get it to seat on the springs. I ended up having to pull the head and compress the springs in normal way. I have not been able to contact the seller to get a refund.

Worked as advertised, handle stayed on and was able to replace all of the valve guide seals in short order

The tool itself is fine, nothing to crazy. It's a little cheaply made, but it is a cheap tool on Amazon haha. Overall not bad, but one important note, NOT COMPATIBLE WITH DODGE 3.7/4.7 ENGINES! I tried, definitely not the right tool.

Was using this on a Chrysler 3.8 v6 engine.Would not recommend this tool at all if you plan to use it for more than one job.The retaining clip presser as others have mentioned was gaped really wide. Had to squeeze it to a smaller size to fit the valve springs I was working with.Handle fell off on first use and many times after that. Does make it easier to store though.Very hard to turn the handle compared to others I have used previously. Wants to bind up as soon as you start turning it. Better tools don't struggle from the start.Tool needs space to get to the springs, so recessed springs would not work with this tool.Bottom line is that it did the job without breaking its legs that pull on the springs. I ended up using Channel Locks to turn the spring compressor screw after the handle fell off several times.I feel that it was designed for larger softer valve springs than what you would find in your average car. Maybe closer to being used on a tractor.Purchase only if you have the valve spring space where the tool can fit, you really cannot afford anything better and don't plan to do this job on a regular basis.

I used this to remove the valve springs on my'85 Corvette. I had no problems with it. It slipped off once during install, but that was my fault. If you place the jaws carefully and don't get in too much of a hurry it will work as advertised. I used it to both remove and install springs. I would recommend this product especially for a do-it-yourselfer/ weekend warrior!I hope you have found this review somewhat helpful.
