I’m usually anti 1 star. This thing is so cheap. Guaranteed to break before you accomplish your task. Do not use on brake lines or fuel lines. The actual tool will bend within seconds. Junk

I had never attempted to replace a brake line before fixing my girlfriends mother’s Jeep so when purchasing the necessary tools for the job I found and choose these after some research. I will tell you it is not an easy task to bust out a perfect brake line bent correctly for installation but I will guarantee you that you will not be able to correctly do it without a tool like this. The tool is of quality build and worked will for my situation, it is not part of my tool collection.

Most of the fluid lines on our vehicles are running straight, like from the front to the rear. After that, the closer you get to the wheels, you're going to have bends in the lines. This is one of the important tools to have, simply because those bends are there for a reason. The line-bends are engineered not only to circle, curve around other parts of the underbody but to help absorb vibration caused when you travel down the road. The closer you can get your replacement line to match the line you are replacing, the better. With that said, it's always a good idea to have a line bender on hand if you plan on replacing the brake lines. Especially the sections that run from the rubber brake hose, to the wheel hub, on the rears, unless you have all Disc Brakes. Then those hoses run to the Caliper. But remember, you still have those bends around the Axles. The cool thing with these line benders is they're not cheaply made, so you can expect to get years of service out of them.. The vehicle we replaced Brake Lines on a 1996 Pontiac Grand AM, which cost us around $250, + the cost of a Hydraulic Flaring Tool-Kit & that's just because I wanted that kit.The shops were quoting us prices, starting in the $1,500's +..... Your choice there. Replacing those lines are not Rocket Science, so don't be scared to do the job. It's Just A Thing Man, Just A Thing & I Refuse To Let, Just A Thing Take Control Of My Wallet....Last note. I keep Map Gas on hand, you know, those small handheld Plumbing Torches. You'll be using it to heat-up any Line-Nuts, that is if they're all rusted up, plus have some Good Penetrating Fluid on hand. It's either that, or you'll strip them & end up replacing more lines & maybe some of the other parts associated with the braking system, many more than you originally planned on fixing/working on....Oh Yeah, ''Lefty-Lucy - Righty-Tighty also Applies to Brake line Nuts. My Stepson was using wrenches & ratchets in the wrong direction, which cost me about twice as much money & twice as long to do the job because he stripped half of the Line-Nuts. I finally had to boot him out of the way & do the important parts myself. I have a lot more grey hair than he does....

An interesting idea in theory, but poorly executed. I tired it on some 5/16 soft copper tubing, and it "worked", but the bend was not very pretty, and the tubing got stuck on the die which made removing it a pain and scratched it all up. Not worth returning, but barely worth having...
