I bought this for a smallish bedroom in a basement of of a house i just moved into, in case it gets hot down there in the summer. Suffice to say, this will definitely do the trick. It turns that small room into an icicle after about 60 seconds of being on. It is fairly loud to have in a smaller room but you get used to the noise after a short while, and besides it cools the room so fast that it doesn't really matter, as it'll only ever need to stay on for a short time. Plus, I suspect the desire to not feel like you're frying in the room will override any noise concerns pretty quickly. This is a very strong unit that blasts cold air effectively even at its lowest setting. The remote is a nice addition as well. All in all I am not disappointed.

I have a small enclosed patio and it gets hot out there during the mid-day no matter what time of year it is. If we have more than a handful of people it gets really hot. It is nice to be able to just turn the A/C and the room cools off in no time. It is small enough that we have plenty of room to walk around it. If we do need to move it there is never a problem because it has wheels.It runs quietly which is a huge plus. We are able to hear the music playing in the background and each other speaking while it is running. I am surprised at how easy it was to put it together. There is also a setting for a fan and a dehumidifier. I love both of those settings as well. It is so nice when the weather isn't that hot but it feels hot anyway because there are so many people back there. The dehumidifier has always helped on the days when the humidity is just too high. The one thing I really love is that it comes with a remote so I can adjust it from across the room.

I bought the 8000btu unit for a small dorm room. It works very well for that purpose. It suited our needs of not requiring any permanent or damaging modifications to the window to install. There is an expandable panel that fits inside a small window opening, which fits the exhaust hose. There was nothing to permanently attach to the window. There is a drain pan for condensate. We raised the unit up and ran a hose out the window for it to be able to drain continuously since it’s very humid here. I liked the adjustable louvers on the front to direct the cool air wherever wanted. It operates quietly. Just fan noise, which isn’t very loud. Easy to sleep in the same room with. Provides comfortable temperature and less humidity.

This AC is great. Yes it’s kind of loud when the AC kicks on, but the cooling power is strong, and it’s not so loud that we can’t hear each other talking. We have a one bedroom apartment and this unit cools the entire apartment down, with it pointed to blow down our one hallway. The only issue we’ve had with it at all so far is that the window slide was wayyy too long for our window, which is an average sized window, so we had to snap the plastic slider in order to get it to fit correctly. Other than that, it runs exactly as it should, it’s small, fits neatly next to our tv stand without taking up tons of space, the remote works great, and I’m so cozy now in our apartment instead of melting all day. I truly could not be happier with how well this AC cools the place! And I’m so grateful that it hasn’t required any draining of condensation yet.

I had never seen an air conditioner like this before, but decided to purchase one after my son told me about these. I looked for quite some time before deciding on this model. The set up was easy and it immediately began to lower the temperature in my sunroom. I have had it for several months and have had no problems with it. I purchased the 12,000 unit size and it is just right for the room it cools. My central unit doesn't run as much and my electric bill has been lower since using this unit. I give it 5 stars and would purchase it again. The noise level is about as much as a window unit, but to me that is not a problem, nor is emptying water that the unit collects.

This unit is not good for a camper. I have a 24 foot travel trailer, so room is limited. I bought this after hearing it's good for RVs. The exhaust hose is a royal pain. It's not really a "flexible" hose (such as a regular dryer hose) and connects to a window set up that's much too large. One slight movement of the unit and the hose forces the hose to come apart from the window mount. Once installed and running, it only dropped the temperature down in my camper 2 degrees after three hours of use. When I viewed my electric meter while using the unit, the wheel rotated faster than an airplane propeller making me believe that it's not any kind of money saver vs the AC that came with my trailer. I gave it a shot, but returned it the same day. It did not work for me.

It works well for about half the square footage advertised—which is all we need. It definitely cools the area in front of the unit, although if you walk past it there is no cooling. Would like it to cool a little better, but it’s adequate and worth the money. We’re using it in our RV to supplement existing AC when it’s super hot and we have a campsite with no shade.
