I have a 12 year old fence with a two side drive through gate. The original light duty hinges were wearing out on both doors so I ordered some stainless steel heavy duty ones to replace them. The stainless steel original carriage bolts started stripping out making it impossible to remove or tighten them.Going to replace them with these and that should fix my issues.I will update when I get the bad ones swapped out.OK, today I swapped out the old bolts. I made sure to lube the new ones as I replaced them and you could tell when they were pulling tight.Most of them went nicely but I needed to replace one of the leg bolt hangers for the hinges and when I got it installed I had to remove the new carriage bolt to transfer everything over to the new mount.Unfortunately the nut had stripped just like the old one did but I had two extras in the kit so I cut it off and replaced it. It appears the threads on the lag bolt start to gall up and lock it from loosening or tightening so be careful not to overwork or over tighten them and definitely use some wd 40 or something to help.

I searched high and low trying to find these locally. Even hardware stores couldnt get them, well so they claimed anyways. On a whim decided to see if they would work based off dimensions listed and they were not only spot on, but even arrived early than stated. They function exactly as they should and are great quality. Worth every penny!

I needed these to replace rusted hardware which attaches base plate to the lift arms of a spa cover lift. In Florida you can watch metal rust in the time it takes to drink a beer! These 304 s/s carriage bolts will outlive my retirement. Excellent fasteners at a fair price.

Both bolts snapped off when tightening them down. Very low quality.
