I have two of these and will be getting more. There are simple unmanaged switches that are sold for much higher prices than this. A compact gigabit switch that allows for VLANs? It's a no brainer. I can easily deploy these throughout the house and selectively set which devices connect to which VLAN requiring only one ethernet cable run to each room. The built-in Web UI is straightforward and easy to configure.

The UI is a little clunky and I was able to block the cloud app by dropping outgoing packets to 43.130.99.166.I would really like to be to find a copy of the firmware.

It works flawlessly without needing to do any extra setup or installation, just connect your router to it and then the devices you need to connect to the internet and that's it, super easy

I have several of the 5 and 8 port versions of these switches. Also have STEAMEMO branded ones that are identical except for the faceplate. Some came with firmware version 6.0.240427. This version has cloud management always on and will constantly phone home.Ones with newer firmware version 6.0.240816 have a toggle on the login page that will disable cloud management. It stops the constant 5 second requests to the cloud server. If you send an email to afterservice at sscee.net (printed on the label on the bottom of the switch) they will send you firmware version 6.0.240817. Filename GS108-240817(Patch6).bin for the 8 port switch. They recommend a factory reset after updating the firmware. System ManagementManage ConfigurationResetAll the 5 port switches I have already had 6.0.240817. The GOALAKE 8 port came with 6.0.240427. The STEAMEMO 8 port came with 6.0.240816. I have update all my 8 port switches to 6.0.240817.EDIT:Also, the RESET on the login page is a true reset. It will remove the existing password if you forgot it. You need the ID from the label on the bottom. It is the really long alphanumeric number. It says digits, but it is alphanumeric. The reset from within the configuration menu will not reset the password.Note:When upgrading firmware. The file selection defaults to displaying only files with no extension. Change it to show All Files to select the .bin firmware file.Note 2:With 802.1Q VLAN you must have at least 1 trunk port. It will not let you create a VLAN without one.Trunk port is also a management port. If you loose connection to the web interface plug into the trunk port.Trunk port is for all VLANs, you can't select specific VLAN per trunk.Note 3:The 16 port version came with firmware 6.0.240816. I emailed them and received 6.0.241230.The 16 port has a physical switch that disables cloud management. The switch is also used to factory reset (clears password). You rapidly switch from web to cloud and back to web within one second and it resets. Convenient, but if someone messes with your switch you may lose your VLAN setup. You can backup/restore your config from the web interface.

This switch is tiny. Itâs barely big enough to hold 8 ports. The web interface is âsimplifiedâ or should I say, it gets the job done. Nothing special, nothing to hate either. 100% worth what I paid for.

The POE switch works well powering three CCTV IP cameras and an uplink to another switch but note... The AI dip switch on the front of the unit which the instructions say to have in the off position for normal data and on for cameras, in the on position, my NVR couldn't detect the cameras that were connected direct to this switch but could recognise one that was connected elsewhere on my network. After hours of head scratching, I tried ignoring the manual and switched the AI dip to off and straight away, the cameras were found.

done a cctv job for a local hockey club.Normally Iâd use a netgear switch, however the hockey club were on a tight budget.I was worried as I have never used this brand before, however these worked perfectly providing POE to 6 IP cams with no issues at all. Would definitely use these again if on tighter budgets.
