These covers are simply 8.5x11 sized clear plastic sheets that are a little thicker and meant to be put in the spine presentation clips. They can’t be used stand-alone, which is what I thought when I got them. That being said, they are good quality for what they are. If the sheet is bent sharply it will crease and leave a milky crease mark.

I believe I jumped to the conclusion that these "covers" were a folder front and back clear cover to insert papers into, but they are single sheets to cover only the front of any paper or papers, evidently used most commonly with binding machines for mass production of reports. But all is not lost for my personal use on occasion, as they make slide on binding bars often called slider bars, very reasonably priced on Amazon to achieve my desired purpose fully utilizing these binding "covers" using two to sandwich my papers between and containing with a slider bar on the left edge forming a bound page-turning report. Upon reading more closely, It does say they are for binding but I didn't pick up on the full meaning of that, most often used I read with binding machinery, but the binding slider bars handle it easy enough for the occasional presentation. I'm happy - Live and learn!

For circa and rollabind users, this clear 8mil stock is great for making covers.It doesn't crease or crack when punched. I used the large (12-15 sheet) circa punch and it came out great.The corners of the stock are sharp, so be careful. But other than a little danger, this stock is excellent.

These 8 mil binding covers are a great way to add a professional touch to your comb binding project. Unless you print on glossy cover stock, your books, reports and other projects will have a "flat" look to them. Adding a clear plastic cover not only protects the printer cover underneath, but it adds a glossy look, which looks quite professional.The photos show the package, just as I received it from Amazon. The second photo shows a print job, with the plastic cover opened. The third photo shows the final product. As this was taken on a cloudy day, I used a flash. In natural light, the gloss and shine would be more pronounced. Suffice it to say, it looks great. (The example job in the photos was 5.5 x 8.5 inches, so I used half a sheet of the clear cover material.)The 8 mil weight is a nice compromise between thickness and price. A 10 or 12-mil cover is a bit thicker, but they are tougher to punch with most comb binding systems. We have three Ibico binding machines where I work, so this isn't a huge issue for us, but it might be for some users who use inexpensive binding systems. The 8 mil cover should punch without difficulty on most any binding machine.

These are crystal clear covers. They are pre cut to size. These are thinner so is not for anything requiring a really strong sturdy clear cover. These are great to add to projects or journals to just have that extra protection on front without covering up what is underneath. I tried to find a way to get a picture that shows it somewhat so I pulled it over on one of my scavenger hunts and it shows up pretty good.

I am using these for the production of “granny’s recipes” a cookbook for our family this Christmas. It protects the cover from moisture on the counter and gives a nice finishing touch to book.It is easy to punch and bind. It is just the right thickness not to be cumbersome but add value to the final product.
