I use these backings on all my rugs.I have only had one issue (hole) but was my fault. I am pleased with both the primary and final backings.

If you are a beginner I DONT recommend this stuff. GET THE GREY FABRIC. It was much easier to work with and almost has a burlap texture. This stuff was to thick for me, and I ripped numerous holes in my fabric. I got so mad I threw it all away in a fit of rage.

This tufting cloth comes in a really big nice size. You can make a big rug if you really wanted to. It comes with a putty scraper and brush for gluing on the backing which they included too. The only thing missing is the edge binding tape.

I picked up this tufting cloth to give my rug tufting hobby a proper canvas, and I am more than pleased with it. The size is massive at 79" x 85", giving me ample space to work on multiple projects. I got around 6-8 different projects cut from the original piece of fabric. The marked lines are nice and plentiful. They've really helped to keep my designs symmetrical and my lines straight. The fabric is durable yet flexible, but the threads may be 'glued' together since it can be tricky for my tufting gun to get in between the threads without breaking them. My tufting gun glides through this fabric, making my piece come together seamlessly. However, it frays a bit on the edges, so you'll need to hem or tape them for longevity. I usually take the time to sew around the edges of the fabric, helping to keep the edges intact as I stretch the fabric over my tufting frame. Tufting fabric is expensive, but this is an excellent value for the area compared to other premium options. If you're into rug tufting, this cloth is a must-try and can save you some money that you can spend on good wool. It doesn't reinvent the wheel or anything. Still, it's a solid, reliable choice for anyone looking to level up their craft while staying cost-conscious.
