This product would've been great it the part was actually the one needed to fix the mowers listed, and on top of that the box torn up and had parts stolen during shipping! Poor Delivery experience and fraudulent parts, you couldn't ask for a worse experience!

The sector plate is thicker than the original. Which is good. The kit only comes with one shoulder bushing that has a larger diameter bolt than the original. I had to make the bolt hole slightly bigger on frame to make it fit. The Troybilt uses 2 shoulder bushings. The shoulder bushing is about .030 (30 thousandths) too thin". When I tighten the pivot bolt and guide bolt, the sector shaft will not move!!! I will add a .030 shim to both bushings and it should work great after that.Advance warning: The troybilt 2146 is designed to remove the engine to replace the sector shaft and pinion gear. I removed the engine pulley and was able to feel my way around with a wrench to hold the top nut and bolt. Short 9/16" is recommended.Update: I used a 5/16" outside star lock washer as a shim for the bushings. I ground the edges off. Steering functions well. The original sector plate/gear is 3/16" thick. The new one appears to be closer to 1/4" thick. I found the dimensions of the bushing online to be 1" x .380" by .380". The bushing in the kit appears to be correct size. But, when I tighten the bolts, the plate locks up. I think the bushing should be 1"od x .380"id x thickness of plate + .020.

Gear fit perfect, no issues installing it. Second time order this part, replaced the one in my dad's mower last year.

The gears fit but the bushing doesn't fit for my Cub Cadet LTX1045 "too thin" so I returned.

Pain in the butt to put on, but great quality and craftsmanship. Definitely buy again if needed!

Okay, not sure how it can have the same part number as the original because it has fewer teeth on it. My Cub Cadet GTX1054 is supposed to be near zero radius turn and fewer teeth means less turing ability.Nevertheless, I installed it and its working, but not 100% sure I have same turning/steering performance. Also, the unit comes with two nuts for the steering arms as well as a bolt/nut for one of the bushings on the rack/pinnion plate. All of these need to not be tight b/c they rotate by design so lock nuts are needed. None of the three that came with it are lock nuts (see pics) so save the ones you remove from the original and reuse. Finally, it also came with the hex head bushing that keys the steering shaft to the fixed gear assy plate and pinion gear (which sell separately for ~$12), so this whole thing is a good value. As shown in the pic, the new pinion gear had the same number of teeth as the original/OEM.It arrived next day for me. This was a decent value time and money wise despite differences in the gear and lack of lock nuts. The new gear is not the same design wise, but fits the same location, so we shall see how well it performs and lasts. So far, performance is nominal.
