I read in the description that the pilot size is not the size of what is stamped on the shank which was somewhat misleading to me. Its diameter is 1/32" larger. I bought these for wood working purposes and it seems from your description that these are for metal working purposes. Had I read that before, I would not have ordered them. I may try to file down the pilot or see if a machine shop can grind them down for me.
