For the few minutes that this worked, I felt like this was almost work the money. Then it stopped working. There isn't an on/off switch so to get it to reset you need to unplug it. The website says you can power this with a USB-C my USB-C port did not work. I did a reset just in case I messed up the configuration. Didn't make a difference.Colors were not all that great but then again, this is not an expensive device and I was only going to use it for training drone operators. The actual construction was fairly sound and it should have done well outside plugged into a generator. It was really easy to connect this to the drone controller. The drone controller recognized it right away.Disappointed to say the least. If this would have worked it would have been a great deal for someone who is NOT looking for great quality pictures and needs a lightweight monitor that can deal with the outdoors.

I got this free through Amazon Vine. I'm not really sure what to do with it, but I like to tinker so I should be able to come up with something. I'm thinking that maybe I can pair it with a Raspberry Pi. The 1024×600 screen throws up a fairly sharp and bright image. I have it hooked up through an HDMI cable, and I'm powering it through the supplied adapter. I don't like that it doesn't have an on/off button. I guess I can plug it onto a power chord that has an on/off switch, or a small power strip that has an on/off button. Of course, it all depends on how what I end up using it for. Overall, I like it. It's pretty cool. I do think, however, that if you shop around you can find a compact monitor with more features for around the same or slightly higher price.

As someone who does a lot of indie filmmaking and videography while traveling, this 7-inch HD IPS Monitor has become an essential part of my gear. It’s compact, versatile, and incredibly easy to use—perfect for on-the-go projects. The HD IPS screen with 1024 x 600 resolution is fantastic for previewing shots and reviewing footage. The 178° viewing angle ensures I can see the screen clearly from any position, which is a lifesaver when I’m setting up at odd angles. The built-in brightness adjustment is especially handy for adapting to different lighting environments. The aluminum alloy case is lightweight yet sturdy, and it holds up well against the wear and tear of constant travel. I love how compact and portable it is—it fits right into my bag without taking up much space. The multiple input options (HDMI, VGA, and AV) make it incredibly versatile. I’ve used it with my camera for real-time monitoring and even hooked it up to a Raspberry Pi for quick previews on set. It’s truly plug-and-play, with no extra software needed, which saves me so much time.Whether you’re filming in a remote location or editing in a makeshift studio, this monitor is a reliable companion. For its size, quality, and functionality, it’s a fantastic addition to any filmmaker’s toolkit.

This is a review of a 7" 1024x600 monitor.First, this monitor is aimed more at hobbyists than anyone else. As such, it's expected that this is not going to be as polished of an experience as using a name-brand computer monitor. This is a small monitor that you might use for SBC applications, retro gaming, or something similar. It's got an RCA jack for composite video input, a VGA port, and an HDMI port. The monitor can be powered by USB (you need a USB-C to USB-A cable for this, which is not included. A USB-C to USB-C cable did not work for me here) or by an included AC adapter. The monitor also features speakers - just don't expect stellar sound quality out of these. Picture quality is okay for what's currently a very inexpensive screen that includes a shell - no real complaints about that so far. There are flaws, which make me hesitate to recommend this monitor. One is that there's no power switch. To turn the monitor off, you have to disconnect the power - which is inconvenient. The only way to get audio into the speakers is via HDMI - which is a disappointment if you wanted to, say, hook an old console up via the composite input to do some retro gaming.Another issue with the speakers is that there's no volume control. There is a volume control in the monitor's menu - which you can access using the "key" button/stick on the back of the case. If you set that volume to "0" the speakers cut off. If you set the volume to anything between 1 and 100, the speakers are at maximum volume. So aside from muting the speakers entirely, the only way to control the volume is to do it on the device you're hooking to the monitor - and not all devices have that kind of control. If you can live with the issues I've mentioned, then this little monitor might work for you - but I think it has too many flaws to actively recommend it.

So I picked this up entirely as a joke. I thought, 1024x600, that's silly, why on earth would I ever need that. And then I plugged it up, got it running, and.... I like it. I like this thing a lot. It's a decent display for status and popup type mounted screens, so I'm going to spend the next umpteen weeks to figure out exactly where I want to put it and how. Maybe I'll rig it to a smart display system and use it for security monitoring or something.
