This works very well. I do use it outside but it is in an outlet that is covered. It runs all the lights outside of my house. So far it works very well. It's not very hard to program it's like anything you have to read the book because you don't do it very often.

I purchased these switches to use whenever I travel abroad. So far, I am pleased with this purchase. Once programmed, the lights turn off and on automatically and described. You can program each day differently i.e with unique on and off times. The switches maintain their programming even if electricity is lost (the manufacturers give an 8-hour timeframe). I have gone beyond the 8 hours and the switches still maintained their programs. Overall, this is a good product to have in your home.CONS:1. The initial programming can be very challenging and time-consuming, so an online tutorial will be required.2. Complete the installation on all the devices before you start programming. Trying to do otherwise may cancel out previous programs. The devices usually sync when you start programming.Worth the purchase!

It took me some time to figure out how to install each timer switch which were replacements for two single pole switches with a bare copper ground wires attached to them that operate two separate light fixtures mounted outside my home. The confusing part was the question about what to do with the ground wires from the previous switches. Short answer: you eliminate them, then install the included wires exactly as the diagram shows in the instructions. That is, the included black wire connected to the switch goes to the hot wire from the circuit breaker box, the included white wire connected to the switch goes to the neutral wire that connects to the bus bar of your circuit breaker box, and the included blue wire connected to the switch goes to the light (the load). So you connect 3 wires and NO GROUND.Once installed, the functions operate as expected and the set-up and programming are straightforward and intuitive. You are able to set the date and time, 12 vs. 24 hr, Daylight Savings Time, and even Latitude and Longitude with an adjustment for finer precision. The switch operates in manual mode, timer mode with multiple on and off times and days, and random which with randomly turn power to your device on and off. The switch packs lots of features in a small package. The LED backlit displays has 3 settings: dim, high, and off.Cool little switch. I'm giving it a good review now day 1, the only thing that could go wrong is if it stops working for some reason. Only time will tell, so we'll see.

This timer works great - lights come on and go off at designated time. The actual hard wire installation went well as I have installed many light switches during my homeowner years. Setting the actual timer was another matter. Thank goodness for YouTube videos. I brought my tablet to the garage and followed the step-by-step instructions of another buyer. If I had to follow those printed instructions, I'd probably have given up and returned this. I am glad I didn't pay extra for the lighted version as this one is easy enough to see in my dark garage.

First the good, then the warning, and then the constructive comments. I really like the look & feel of the switch. Nice fonts, easy and logical controls, and an excellent price-point. The product allows you to enter a LAT LON location and any desired DFT or Correction offset, and the timer will calculate accurate sunset and sunrise times. Now for the real magic: you can set an on or off time as sunset or sunrise PLUS OR MINUS up to 70 mins. This is so good, as you can set e.g. 30 mins to sunset, and let the timer correct itself every day with no spring or fall adjustments. Beautiful!Warning: you cannot set multiple rules for the same day or for all days. I tried to set Program 1 to be Sunset - 30 mins till 11:15pm, and Program 2 to be 6:00 am until Sunrise + 30 mins. Program 2 then blocked Program 1. The instructions clearly say you cannot do this, but is this not an obvious setting need?Constructive comments:1. Resolve this issue above simply by having a config setting of Any On = On, or alternatively Any Off = Off. When evaluating each Program's On/Off rules e.g. once a minute, evaluate "Any On = On" to be default off until first On program is found. Evaluate "Any Off = Off" as default on until the first Off program is found.2. On the day select, add 2 more options to the cycle: "Sa Sa" and "Mo Tu We Th Fr". This allows you to set a weekday rule and a weekend rule. Or a pair of weekday rules, a Saturday rule and a Sunday rule, etc. This is much cleaner than setting each day individually for the weekday, or for the weekend, etc.3. Picky - but add a decimal point to the GPS LAT LON, to fine tune to under 10mi x 10mi. (Not critical!)
