I did not know what to expect with these, but I needed larger tools for some of the larger bonsai I now have. These are much cheaper than the expensive Japanese made tools. From what I can tell, they are very nice and good quality. Except the side and the other pruner both needed to be sharpened right out of the box. Some small diamond files I already have for pruners did the trick. Other than that, I think this is a great tool set.

Good for beginners, not as high quality as more bespoke and expensive bonsai tools, but I have found them to be very good. Decently sharp, good performance, comfortable to use, excellent value. All you need as a beginner/intermediate bonsai hobbyist.

With 6 tools at a reasonable price, I was surprised at the quality. Sturdy, well made, and easy in the hands. I haven't used them enough to know how long they will stay sharp, but I have high hopes based on the build quality.

Fantastic quality: heavy duty, very sharp, sturdy, stainless steel, easy to clean. Worth the price, as i have purchased cheaper ones via another supplier and these far out-weigh them.

As a Bonsai beginner I wanted good tools so as to get good results, but I couldn't justify an expensive professional set. I went with this 6 piece set and am glad I did over a 4 or 5 piece. No idea when I'll use the trunk splitter but now it's there if I do.I liked that the manufacturer showed individual photos naming each tool because, as I said I'm a beginner. Nice touch I thought. The stainless used is not like your kitchen sink. There are different grades and these may show rust as some have pointed out. This is avoidable. I recommend a tool roll. Tougher to find an appropriate one than you would think due to the width of each tool , so a square piece of pliable leather or a chamois will work. Set the tools in the center, fold the bottom up and the top down and then roll it. Simple and cheap.I also keep these clean with isopropyl alcohol which disinfects as well as cuts through fresh pine pitch, and oil them after use as I put them away.If it's really humid you can keep them in a toolbox with old desiccant pouches.Sharp, good proportions, and they feel good in my hand. Very happy and not at all the reason why my plants suffer. ; )
