These are agressive bits that work very well. I was using them to put wiring through studs.

Worked great until I hit a screw (my fault) and now the front blade is worn out and wouldn't dig anymore. These are perfect for drilling studs for Romex to go thru.

These spade bits are not sharp you will burn the wood and also burn your bit. Out of 13 bits only found 3 that were sharp 1 3/8, 1 1/4 and 1 1/8. Used 1/4" on soft white pine 3/4" thick for dowl rod did not cut even the pilot point was not cutting once I got into the meat of the bit and about a 1/4" mew something was definitely wrong no chips and wood burning back bit out and the bit was tempered blue checked the rest of the bits and found what I previously mentionedQuality: PoorValue for your money: NonePerformance: LousyDurability: Won't last at allDon't waste your money.

This set of bits is a great deal. There's a well known US brand of 4-flute bits (with longer flutes) that you'd pay twice as much as this set for just one bit. These seem like they're decent quality, but not in the same league as the aforementioned US brand. When I think of a screw tip bit I think of rough construction and these would be great for drilling holes in studs for wiring or plumbing. They sailed through a DF 2x4 with a much cleaner hole than you'd get with a spade bit, but hardwood?? or plastic??? I don't think so. I tried the 3/4" bit on a piece of hard maple. It took a while and a lot of downward force to get the bit started and then it promptly seized up as soon as the flutes hit the wood. I didn't have a piece of plastic to try this in, but the feed rate, dictated by the screw tip, is too agressive for most hardwood, let alone plastic. These might work in a softer hardwood like poplar, but that's probably about it.The 'quick change shank' implies that you're going to use it in an impact or your 1/4" bit holder. Of course this worked, but delivered a result that would only be suitable for rough construction. Great deal and I'll get these again rather than going for spade bits

Sharp and easy to drill with at first, but they heat up and dull very quickly. Good set if you use sparingly.
