Works very well when connected to an air compressor.Extracts oil fairly fast from an inboard boat engine, so long as you run the engine to warm the oil a little first. The build quality is very good and it's very easy to use. Well worth the price.

I want to love this thing but it is a lot of hassle to set up and break down/clean.

This oil and fluid extractor works well once you get it set up, but my experience started with a bit of frustration. The hole where the hose connects had a large piece of sprew left over from the molding process, which prevented the hose from snapping into place. I had to carefully trim it with a knife before I could use the extractor. After addressing this issue, I was able to successfully use it to extract fluid from a windshield washer reservoir. It works effectively and gets the job done, but the build quality leaves something to be desired. If you’re prepared to do a little work to fix potential manufacturing flaws, this is a solid product that performs well, though it’s not built to the highest standard.

This manual/pneumatic oil extractor is one of those garage tools that an average DIYer can absolutely get away without owning but might come in really handy every now and then to help speed up your work. I really only see this tool as providing a benefit on vehicles that use cartridge style oil filter elements accessible from the topside of the engine compartment. If you're engine has a canister style oil filter that requires you to get under the car anyways for the oil change then you might as well use your drain plug anyways while your there and save the need to charge up your air compressor. This tool functions and works as it should, and extracts oil quite quickly. It's 6L capacity is large enough to fully drain most engines without the need to pause and drain it. I'm thankful to have it in my tool arsenal now but wouldn't say I absolutely needed it.

The pneumatic oil extractor is a bit disappointing. There are a lot of parts to assemble, making the setup process more complicated than necessary. Even after putting everything together, it’s difficult to get all the oil out of the system, which makes it less effective than I had hoped. While the concept is great, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It’s time-consuming and doesn’t provide the clean oil extraction I was expecting. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this tool if you’re looking for an easy and efficient oil change solution.

As a couple of other reviewers mentioned, there is a small burr where the top section and canister meet that interferes with plugging in the top suction line. It took less than a minute to file it off, and it was good to go. Outside of that small initial inconvenience, the tool works wonderfully. I used it to change the oil on my lawn mower and pressure washer, and it worked great. Before the extractor, changing the oil on my mower required tipping the mower to its side and upside down to get the old oil out, a two-person job. With the extractor, I did it by myself with no tipping and no exertion. I expected the manual pump to be difficult to stroke, but that was not the case at all. I was able to easily pump with one hand while using my free arm for other things. When the time comes, I'll be using it to change the oil on my truck and SUV, which both have oil filters on the top of the engine, no need to drive up ramps or deal with messy oil spills. Overall, I am very glad to have this tool and would recommend it to other DIY’ers.

This extractor is well built, sturdy, with vacuum pump made with metal parts and it works well. If this is your first time using an extractor, would recommend watching some videos online. The tool itself is good, but the instructions will not get you far.Whats good?- It is true 6l unit. I have used the other versions which are a small sphere and they hold at max 4 - 4.5 l.- The vacuum is activated when pushing down on the lever, not up, which is great.- If you want to use compressed air, it is already installed and ready to go. (I did not tested since I don't have a compressed air system).- The tank is strong and well built, don't expect to see any issues with it.- The vacuum pump looks robust, made from metal. Not good, not bad but things to know:- The top its a bit crowded with the vacuum handle, inlet port and the compressed air fittings. It's just a bit annoying but nothing stopping you to properly use the extractor.- There is a mark at the top, with a slanted line. It mentions that you should not exceed that angle when tilting the extractor to remove the liquid, it is very hard to see. I'm guessing something to do to protect the vacuum assembly.Whats not good?- Instructions: they are terrible. If you do not know what you are doing, you will have a hard time with the included manual. Once you navigate thru the really bad spelling mistakes and the grammar (yes, it's clear to see it is translated from another language), you will almost end up as in the beginning, there is a lot of information lacking to properly use and care for this extractor.- The tube to hold the tubings it's made of really cheap plastic, makes the whole extractor look cheap.
