I have not encountered any problems with these set screws. The threads are smooth and consistent and I have not had any problems with the hex tool opening being too big or small.

I got these to use as replacements for the old #6-32 small slotted grub & set screws that came in old Erector sets from 1913-1980's, during AC Gilbert, Gabriel, and Ideal periods of production. They work perfectly, and I'm very happy with them. They even provided an Allen wrench with the batch.I will be getting more of them for my use in building with my old sets, as the newer type screws are so much easier to use and replaceable than the old screws that come in these vintage sets.They seem quite hard enough to fix the old gears/pulleys/wheels very well to the axles, and being stainless steel should not see the rust issues that so many of the original have. Love 'em!These of course would only be for the "bosses" of parts, as Erector used standard #8-32 nuts and bolts for the normal connection of parts.

I found no obvious issues with allen socket or thread forming. These work great to replace the over strength lockpatch grub screws on a Harley axle cap that inevitably strip out. Saves time and frustration with the service advisor/lazy parts guys that will cost me a couple dollars in lost flat rate time trying to get a new one. Ain't worth it. These only cost me 15 cents a piece.

These set screws hold well, and don't seem to back off on their own easily. The stainless steel finish is much appreciated for corrosion, since the black oxide screws can seize if they haven't been exercised in a while. So far none of these have stuck.
