I am not a barbed wire expert. In fact, this was my first acquisition of barbed wire ever. That said, seeing how far apart the protruding sharp parts are surprised me. I expected them to be closer to one another. I got this to repair parts of a very old existing barbed wire fence and figured 60’ would definitely meet my needs. Now I am not as certain about this total length. I may need to double up to ensure a quantity of sharp, pokey parts adequate to deter trespassers.

I ordered this 60 ft barbed wire based on reviews that it is easy to manage and not too thick because I have part of my patio area that I want to cordon off from my three mini- cows who have decided that they love the taste of the previously beautiful and dense decorative ivy ground cover on a good portion of my green patio area, to the point that in many areas it's now bald where they've eaten it to the ground. It's not like they don't have countless Acres of other very tasty vegetation toand several round bales of hay to eat. LOL I don't want to put up electric fencing around this area because I need to be able to easily access those areas as do my dogs so I'm going toput this as a single strand at a strategic height that will deter the cows using T posts but where I will still be able to duck underneath it and my dogs will be able to easily pass underneath. I've discovered that even a slight Visual and physical deterrent like putting up leaning 2x4s has worked for keeping them out of that area so this will be a less visually obtrusive method that will still function well and not be unsightly like having a bunch of 2x4s leaning between trees as I have currently been doing. This wouldn't be enough barbed wire obviously for a big job or if you need to make a full fence for keeping out different sizes of animals but for small repairs or for cordoning off small areas, it will work great. It comes with a pair of rubberized gloves to protect your hands but the Barbed wires are VERY sharp and I'm probably going to be using thicker leather gloves to put this up so as not to cut my fingers. The cardboard box that it came in is poked full of holes so theyre pretty Sharp! I think if you don't need a large amount of Barbed wire, this is a good value and an easy solution if you just need a small amount of Barbed wire.

60ft is 60ft... and it does say for crafts, but please take this literally. I got this because I live on a farm and have lots of uses for various projects ranging from crafts to actual fencing. This roll is definately for crafts only. The box was no more than 6in square and weighted less than 2lbs. I could possibly use this around my garden, but most likely this will be used in my house to make picture frames and such to go with my farmhouse themed living room.Here’s my rating scale for products:1 Star: Do not buy. This item has serious flaws. I would never under any circumstances use again.2 Stars: Do not buy. Its usable at best, but you could easily find something better.3 Stars: Just ok. Buy if you can't find an alternative. Some issues need to be addressed.4 Stars: Recommend purchase. This item met my expectations.5 Stars: I love this product and would highly recommend to friends & family.Additional Information: As a Vine reviewer, I know that people depend on these early revies as I to depend on reviews when shopping on Amazon.
