Works as expected. Used on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe LT with the 5.3 LS- My previous one had issues when getting cold from the ambient temperature. When it was below 20F, I'd get the "Service 4wd" message on my dash. I changed this part out, and the message went away. Also, when the Service 4wd message popped up, none of the toggle buttons would work, and I'd get stuck in a mode (in this case, the dreaded 4-lo).After installing, this fixed the service message and also allowed me to switch the vehicle out of 4-lo finally. So if you're having trouble with this issue, this is one of the parts you can replace. If it doesn't fix your issue then you'll likely need:A) The other larger "encoder motor" solenoid that goes on the side of the transfer case, shaped like a square block and you have to take one of the axels loose to get to it.B) Bad groundsC) Switch panel on dashD)Low fluidsKind of a common problem on GMT800, so it's probably a good idea just to buy one of these and stick them in your glovebox to be ready for when the time comes.

Not much to say about this actuator. From what I've experienced, there isn't a need to spend 3x+ more on an OEM or 2x at a local auto parts store for one of these. They're all cheap and made of plastic, so as long as they work they're all the same. This one seems to work fine. Installation takes about 15 minutes at most. You'll need a large channel lock or crescent wrench to uninstall the old one and install this one. Again, it's plastic, so be firm but no need to really crank on it as you could crack the housing or strip the plastic threads. These things generally last a long time, but they will just die randomly, so having a backup isn't a bad idea. If it does go out, nice knowing there are inexpensive options that will work.

I like how easy this was to replace my old one. It feels well made and durable. It fit just looks the old part did. This part was a good value and just what we needed.

My husband ordered this to fix the 4 wheel drive on his 2004 Chevy pickup and it works perfectly. It was easy for him to install, about 15 minutes start to finish (but he’s a mechanic so it might take longer for someone without prior experience). It has already been put to plenty of off road use and hasn’t had any issues yet b
